Is the virus can land on the mask it definitely can go direct through the nose and mouth with no mask. Is this better?
at this point, it hasn't been shown nor is there convincing evidence that the virus transmits itself through the air. as a guess, but most viruses don't stay viable in enough concentration when airborne. that doesn't you can walk into an infectious diseases hospital wing with sick people without a mask, but in normal daily life, you are probably better of without it. or else stay at home.

the main mode of transmission is expected to be surface contact with virus particles from surfaces. Meaning, sick person touch his face or his whatever, then touch the table, then you touch the table then touch your face. that's how you get it. I think sam is a bit impatient to explain at length because he 1001 things to do or whatever, but unless the person sneezes or coughs straight in your face, a mask is probably worse because a child has no discipline in making sure hands are clean before they adjust the mask and will probably do so 1000 times a day.

not only that but in sinkieland, all these masks N95 and whatever saturate very quickly because of ambient humidity. The mask then becomes a welcome home for virus particles and other bacteria.

The thread title is also wrong. It should be: SENT

good catch!

now, I'll go back to mumbling nonsense...

but I disagree about the mask thing. tried it, but spent most of my time fiddling with it. also effectiveness dropped off PDQ. Lasted maybe <30 mins.

In the context of your sentence, the correct word is "worse" and not "worst".

'Worse' is most commonly used as a comparative adjective that describes a noun. And since it's a comparative adjective, it's often followed by 'than,' indicating what the noun is being compared to. Here are some examples both with and without 'than:'
  • This food is bad, but it could be worse.
  • This Nicolas Cage movie is worse than the last Nicolas Cage movie I saw.
  • Being grounded on a Friday night is bad, but being grounded on a Saturday is even worse.
These adjectives all describe nouns, but 'worse' can also be used as an adverb, which modifies a noun or other adjective, as in these examples:
  • I did worse than Jane on the math test.
  • I feel like I am getting worse at basketball even though I practice every day.
  • I was hoping to be over this illness, but I am doing worse today.
Damn how many alter-egos does Claire have ?

You take your chances with a few virus.

But droplets with HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS AND MILLIONS of virus inside?

YOU ARE FUCKED AND TIEWED AND KANNED !

A child using a mask will make things worse. They will touch their face more often and increase the risk of transmission.
I am not asking her to use throughout. Just for that period in the train. You always twist and turn your argument. Becoming sort of disgusting you know.

Allow me to Claire-rify that sentence.

Dispensed my feminine offspring at her educational faculty moments ago. With hope, wishing her physical well-being will be maintained at the current healthy state.

Hey Claire, how do I fare for formalising a mundane sentence on your behalf ?

People believe what they want to believe. Putting on a mask gives a psychological sense of being protected somewhat. If it makes people happy by all means go for it.

All I'm doing is trying to ensure that people don't end up with a false sense of security and think that because they have a mask on they are impervious.

Getting a kid to put on a mask when you cannot supervise what your child is doing when it's on is lunacy. Adults aren't any better though. I was at lunch today and I saw a guy with a mask on. He paid by CC using a keypad that has been touched by thousands of people and then used the very same fingers to lift up his specs and rub his eyes vigorously.

He's not the only one. I also saw a mother adjusting her kid's mask with her dirty hands all over the inner surface.

These people walk around feeling safer but the reality is that they were in more danger than I was even though I was maskless. I am very conscious of not touching surfaces. I am very careful every single flu season from April to Nov but I still end up with a head cold every other year on the average. It is very difficult to avoid germs they are everywhere.

I'm not twisting and turning anything I have been consistent from day one that masks are pretty useless.

Is there a rule that I must write proper English here? If not, why are you people worse than women?

Surely I am not. I am convinced myself that my England cannot store so many of her funny words. Why are you always suspecting I am Claire?
Because she reappeared shortly after a relatively long hiatus right after you joined this forum. It is hard not to make some kind of connection as both of you are voicing your grievances here within a short span of each other, albeit at a different level of linguistic complexity and topic-wise.
There are coincidents and then there are coincidental coincidents.
