"On Wednesday after I had completed my personal investigation and confirmed that these events had indeed transpired, I informed our OC of these offences. Our OC spoke to LTA X regarding these issues, and let him off with a warning.
I would like the story to end here, however LTA RX was again on duty at ____ Camp for _________ on the following Saturday the 28th of April. At 0030 hours on Sunday the 29th of April I received a message from the duty personnel. The duty personnel of the platoon had just spotted LTA X’s car, a white Mitsubishi lancer driving out of camp. . . . They also informed me that LTA X was no where to be found, not in any of the bunks nor any of the offices.

When confronted by our OC, LTA X told him that indeed it was his car driving out of camp, he claimed however, that it was not him driving the car but that he had lent it to friend to drive out of camp. most likely regular but not scholar. overseas scholar officer is usually 2nd lieutenant who has just graduated from ocs and being assigned a holding unit before going to a university overseas. when he returns from studies with a degree he is then quickly promoted to capitan.

The LTA was a regular, perhaps a scholar. Hongyi was never a LTA; he was going to siam the full NSF period to be scholar overseas. The LTA slacked but got caught by LHL's coveted son and kena named to CDF then fake Lieutenant General Desmond Quek. Quek of course have to obey his master who was junior in rank and also a fake general. CDF punish LTA hard, Hongyi only told "next time don't do that" -- where got next time?
That is not how it works. SAFOS is applied for while the student is still in A levels. After their acceptance into Cambridge or MIT or whatever uni, using the A levels, they are then confirmed to receive the Scholarship.
Here are the following steps:
1) Apply SAFOS and Apply university of your choice with prelim A level results. Confirmation of acceptance by uni of your choice is done when actual A level results are release. At the same time, SAFOS award is also confirmed.
2) In the meantime, after A level exams, enter NS. Start with BMT during January intake, and after 3 months there, start first term of OCS.
3) After a couple of months in OCS, disrupt about 2 months before start date of uni semester, usually, disruption is around June. This gives the cadet time to buy his tickets, clothing, etc. for the trip to his overseas uni.
4) After 2 years in overseas uni, he is given 2Lt rank, even though he has not passed out from OCS. During the uni holidays, he can go back to Singapore to serve for a month or so in a unit. Not sure if its optional.
5) When he graduates from uni, he is promoted to LTA and returns to Singapore to start his SAF career.
6) He attains Capt. rank after 2 years in the unit.
So, your point is wrong. NO SAF scholars that I know, (I know many of them) have ever graduated from OCS. They have been simply promoted to officers while overseas in their unis. In Hongyi's case, he was not a SAFOS. He was a PSC scholar. Which is a different path. He disrupted after being posted out to his unit as an officer. So, he actually did pass out from OCS. I don't think he ever came back to serve the balance of his NS. If you look at it this way, you will see that non of this SAFOS holders have ever completed their full NS.
My understanding is that this unnamed LTA played out the Red One. They were supposed to exchange duties, but after Hongyi perform his duty for him, the LTA reneged and did not cover Hongyi's duty. That pissed off the Red One and hence the whole hoo ha started.
This guy I think is a high flying white horse. Who dare to fuck with Hongyi in that whole camp? Even CO, MAjor rank wouldn't dare to antagonize the Red One. But this LTA somehow thinks he is power enough to bochap the Red One.
The fact that this LTA is never named is a good sign he is some big shot's son.

given a grant of at least $696k for at least 369 months of overseas studies, and when they return they are given at least $6.9m worth of projects to fuck around. and the better porlumpar types (with the top 6.9 elite mentors) get to fuck around with $6.9b budgets when they land in an executive role with some glc's. i say not a bad life for little kids.
