<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->THE Housing Board built barbecue pits barely metres away from residential units at Block 131, Clarence Lane.
The construction of the pits at this location is an extremely bad idea.
The National Environment Agency (NEA) has campaigns promoting clean air and smoke-free corridors and lift lobbies, yet smoke from barbecues, which is equally toxic, if not more so than cigarette smoke, is now polluting the homes or living areas of residents. It makes a mockery of NEA's healthy lifestyle campaign.

Why worry? Everyone knows that eating BBQ food is unhealthy. If they like to BBQ often, they will payback somehow in other ways like poor health.

She has a point but she's exaggerating and misleading, probably due to overzealous greenpeace propaganda and subtle brainwashing. The fume that's more toxic than tobacco smoke is vehicle exhaust or factory exhaust. One can inhale deeply and enjoy tobacco fume for 20 years or more, but no-one can go sniff motor vehicle or factory exhaut fume for 20 seconds and remain conscious. Cooking by charcoal grille (i.e. BBQ) is still healthier (and more delicious) than cooking with gas or electric stove. People can get killed by being gassed or electrocuted, but who got killed by charcoal? Whether misadventure, suicide or homicide (i.e. murder or manslaughter).
