Well, I am not defending him as I really do not think that he is so significant for me to despise him (at the moment). I generally ignore them if they become a pest to me, in real life and online as well. He is entitled to his views. If I don't agree, I either respond, and if I am busy, I just ignore.

In a real life scenario, if someone at work is being a pest, I just walk away and ignore them. So it is the same when I am online.

I had a boyfriend in university days. As we graduated and started work, he went to a small company, while, because I am a second-upper honours graduate, I joined a bigger and reputable company. I think income disparity became a "touchy" point for him and we drifted, though I really did not mind paying for meals (which I did) and did not expect expensive gifts from him. Maybe he had an inferiority complex, but I certainly did not have a superiority complex.

If you asking whether I did slept with him before, I did. Nothing to be ashamed about as we are all adults.

Following the breakup, I enjoyed a couple of years of singlehood and through introduction from some of my girlfriends, I got to know a Brit. Well, it lasted for half a year as I do not subscribe to the "western" kind of culture and food. I am a typical Asian girl who enjoys local Asian dishes. Perhaps, its my grandma and mother's cooking which I enjoy most, and hence my orientation towards Asian culture and music.

Nonetheless, having a Brit as a boyfriend was an eye-opener, not only for myself but for my girlfriends who came to know about it. They will ask me the most inane questions - for instance if he was better in bed; if he is rich and the most stupid of all conclusion is that I can become a UK passport holder through marriage with him.

Anyway, it did not work out as there were too many cultural differences. Perhaps, I have a strong character that he cannot accept.

Wildest thing I have done, I am not sure which angle you are coming from. If you are referring to the intimate angle, well, I have done what couples usually do. I guess there is no need for specifics unless you have a fetish for such information.

I am single because I have decided to concentrate on my career. Maybe someone will come along, maybe not. It is fate. What is mine will be mine and what isn't will never be.

All of us whether men or women love good food. I really do not see the need to gain "proprietorship" over men likes good food while women don't.

I have to agree with po2 that men are better cooks in food service industry. The best chefs are men.

However, if you are talking about home cooked food, I believe men and women are equally good. I once went for a cooking lesson and the instructor told me that men are better cooks because they are more process driven. The ability to prepare the ingredients well and the well thought plan on how to cook the dish and present it.

So I have trained myself likewise. For instance, if I do a steamed cod fish, I will structure the process in my head - codfish to be marinated with ShaoShing wine, chopped my spring onions into thin long curly stripes: prepare the dripping sauce - sugar, light soy sauce, shaoshing wine, water, and white pepper. Then I will steam the cod fish for 10mins, drained. Heat up the drip sauce to boiling and pour over the fish and garnish with the thinly sliced spring onion. I get a restaurant style dish. :smile:

Oh yes. I forgot. :smile: You must be a pretty good cook yourself. I do add cilantro but I have an aversion to mushrooms, primarily because I find it hard to digest. :smile:

Yummy. But I can only take such food once in a while. It is not that I dislike western, perhaps I feel that Asian cooking requires more effort and hence the taste is more diverse and delightful as compared to western cuisine. Well, it is just my own likes and dislikes, just me :smile:

At our home, I prepare dinner for six (spouse and four children: daughter, son, daughter and son), and I have to prepare food so that those children who have allergies, are able to eat it, or sometimes, I have to prepare two kinds of pasta, or different food. I am the only person of "pure Chinese" descent, and accordingly, have grown used to eating mostly "Western" cuisine, although they do not mind non-Western cuisine, except that we seldom eat rice, may be one cup of uncooked rice a week.

Charlie, you certainly sound "domesticated" (Sorry, no offence intended, but my ex-Brit boyfriend is a good cook as well).

As for rice, I do avoid it as well for obvious reasons. :smile:
