that is uni days..now is diff..trying to test my cooking skill..the easy dish should be fried rice.
I wish to take up cooking as a hobby..
any good tips n the best way to do fried rice?
No. Unsalted food is not only much healthier (salty food causes high blood pressure and heart attacks), it actually tastes better, as you can finally enjoy the original flavours of the ingredients (many of which are already sufficiently salty themselves).
Next time you go to Macdonalds, ask for unsalted fries. You'll find it tastes better than salted fries, not to mention it's healthier.
i alway ask for unsalted fries .they will re fried a fresh and hot.
they i add black peepr to the unsalted fries
many bros already pointed out using over night rice.
one important thing about fried rice is the rice must be "fried". Use round wok and not flat wok. toss and flip the rice using high heat for about 15-20 seconds. This will ensure every single rice is fried. If you are just stiring and stiring, then it's not fried rice, it's call stir rice. Remember, high heat for 15-20 seconds with lots of tossing and flipping. those scare of cleaning up kitchen can forget about eating good fried rice.
for vegetarians, can consider adding a few pieces of thin mushroom slices. but my personal favorite still salted fish. soya sauce is ok, salt no need.
home cook fried rice can never be as good as those for sale.
our home stove cannot produce the wok hei effect
You can't say that....
Pii Chon has got a zhi char grade stove in his house.
Pii Chon allow me to add on....
Salted fish fried rice tastes better with a generous amount of bean sprouts fried in...
Also please use the dry type of salted fish and not the wet type used for clay pot rice....some prefer to prefry the salted fish to crispy bits beforehand.
You should already know, khao pak kha na pla khaem is very common here (salted fish fried rice with gai lan)
the problem with salted fish in southeast asia is that the fish which is dried out in the open in the tropics and dirty conditions is contaminated with hardy parasites, microbes and bacteria that can survive salt, acid, heat, dryness and sunlight. one such bacterium is helicobactor pylori. ultraviolet light kills viruses, but it has little effect on some bacteria which can remain burrowed and dormant in solids and reproduce with heat and water. it can settle in your tummy for decades and cause ulcers leading to cancer.![]()
