ohh...my father actually own a car, but if ask me to travel like that, I still prefer live in a place nearer to CIQ to save time. Driving over, find a parking, all quite time consuming. sleep more is quite important too. The main reason why I want to live in Singapore is because I want to sleep more. :smile:

Everyone want to save time/effort on travelling/daily convenience/etc. That's why if there is MRT linkages from JB with a single custom clearing, the hassle of crossing causeway will be very much reduced. All property in JB will benefit. However, those property closer will benefiting from higher appreication than those farther away. Once confirmed/announced, the price will be even higher. Nearing the date of completion of MRT in 2018, the price will be even higher.

oh it can be investment or own stay depending on RTS. I have a shoebox in SG that will TOP by Q2 ..so wil stay in SG. By 2016 when matex TOP in 2016, the RTS location would have been confirmed and works shld be underway. if RTS materailize and its doable to commute to work in SG, then will rent out and stay in matex when RTS is up and running. if RTS dream vanishes in thin air, will flip/rent matex and continue staying in SG

i am considering moving to Matex but it depends on situation then. i won't mind living without a car if transportation becomes easy. i have a dream and my dream is to own a small property in every major city in South East Asia..so that when i semi-retire..can stay in different part of Asia and live among the locals.I'll kick start with malaysia first lah..haha..

JB do not have high class condo yet.

Usually the developers will self proclaim high class or luxurious.

You must judge by quantum of the condo. Not by psf.
Usually people whom buy this type of condo will be at least rich if not famous.

luxury or not will depend very much on the management. embassy suite is what suppose to be a luxury service apartment. look at what it is now.

That we need to buy rom developers who have a good track record of building excellent niche condos and subsequent management like UMLAND, IREKA.

not sure about matex but usually the case is after 2 years when residence mangement body is formed, it will depends alot on the residence committee's commitment to maintain the same standard of service.

and btw, committee are FOC job.

I thought for this service apartment the management office is the hotel operator after 2 years ?

not too sure about service apartment but I think for strata act building the residence will need to form their management body. then the committee will choose to continue the management service. that will be another contract sign between residence committee and management body.

the way I look at it, it is the same as any other condo. it still need to comply with strata title act.

the difference is that hotel operator has a huge block of the building and will be a member of the joint management body.
