WP Chauvinists: Malays = Barbarians; Malays = Uncivilised

I agree that huan nah is not a derogatory term. Because if I meant to be offensive, I will call them something which mean "digging the ground".

It has the same meaning as bumiputra and is the common name used by Hokkien in Singapore. If the Malays take offence with the term bumiputra, they should get the govt to come out with a new name. Incidentally should also try to do the same thing in Malaysia.

if the politically-correct chinese translation was used for "indigenous" or "bumiputra", it would be 土著 which referred to earth, soil, dirt or...........m&d, which is even worse. better to use 本地, but this means native, which also covers native-born chinese and indians. to connect with the crowd in hokkien, the best words to identify malays in the sg context, imo, are "huang na".

you dun flame the racial fire lah! huana means potato lah!

You clearly have no clue about the Hokkien dialect or know the etymological origins and meaning of this racist, bigoted and derogatory label for the Malay community used by the WP's Chinese chauvinists and WP race bigots.

....token and useless pictures of minorities removed...[/QUOTE]

Don't be daft. I have clearly stated that to expect absolute zero support of the WP from the minority Malay and Indian communities is to be stupid and unrealistic. I have already stated in another thread that no more than 0.2% to 0.3% of the minorities from the 21% minorities support the WP.

There will always be that teeny-weeny bit of minority from the minorities who will support the WP. It is no different from some Jews working for Hitler even as he exterminate them or Palestinians working for the Israelis who kill their own Palestinian brothers and sisters or Singaporean (Malayan then) collaborators working with the Japanese invaders and colonisers to screw up their own people.

In real terms and absolute numbers, that means the WP chauvinists and race bigots will be able to vomit out the type of token pictures that you have posted.

Brother PTADER must have felt angry with WP for his own reasons,I can accept his outburst but pray that he would come back to his good sense and realise that either you are with WP and its partner parties or PAP comes 2016.There is no other alternative as we have enough of PAP!This refers to about 50%+ of the overall population now,by 2016,i expect this "enough is enough" group to reach 60% of our citizen voters!it is SAYANARA to PAP!sayonara.

How to?

"I think we have a competent Government... we need to allow time for the Government to work, and I hope, eventually, the policies will take effect on the ground, people's lives will be improved and we have a better Singapore." Low Thia Khiang in "By-election win not sign of trend for GE: Low", 147th Prostitute Press 28 January 2013

WP Chauvinists and race bigots, please note and please be patient. Things will improve under the PAP. So says Chauvinist Low. Never forget that in 1990, LKY described Chauvinist Low Thia Khiang as being "on the same side of the river" as opposed to JB Jeyaratnam.

Only an idiot would believe that the WP is a racist party. No racist party, except for the PAP, can thrive in sinkapore.

Don't know don't come out with your own definition. It nothing derogatory.

It a common term used to refer to indigenous peoples. Taiwanese also used the "Huan na " on their aborigine.

It goes to show hokkien recognize Malay as indigenous people of the land.

You are another one with absolutely no clue about the Hokkien dialect or know the etymological origins, past and contemporary meaning of this racist, bigoted and derogatory label for the Malay community used by the WP's Chinese chauvinists and WP race bigots.

Huan/Fan are Hokkien/Mandarin terms for barbarians and savages. It was a term that that was used to describe the non-Han Chinese. Any people living beyond the walls of the Middle Kingdom was considered to be, unlike the Chinese of the past in China and WP chauvinists of the present in Singapore, to be uncultured, uncivilised, barbaric and savages.

In a survey taken from Low Thia Khiang's alma mater (Nantah) in 1969, the Malays (and minorities) were recorded (all these are actual quotes) from these Nantah Chinese chauvinists as being*:

"[Malays] are lazy but lavish spenders. They are comparatively uncultured and untrustworthy".

"Almost all Malays are Muslims and their intelligence on average is lower that among the Chinese".

"Malays are not diligent, have very dark skins and the majority of them attain a very low level of education".

"[Malays, Indonesians and Filipinos] are selfish, lazy and dirty"

"Malays are lazy and indulge in too much impractical things, while Indians are dirty, talkative and lack a sense of mutual understanding"

"The Indians are greedy, who would sacrifice anything for a small profit, short-sighted, and they make the worst coloured 'large nation' in Asia."
You can see, right here in this very forum, that 43 years after a sociological survey of students from Low's alma mater, such racism and bigotry continues to be held by the WP chauvinists and WP race bigots.

You can see from that chauvinist WP MP's rally speech, that such derogatory "Huan na" and racist labels continue to be used.

The chauvinism exists only in the mind of the thread starter. It does not exist in the minds of the candidates or the voters.

Yup, right. Next you will be telling me that a White calling a Chinese a "Chink" is acceptable.

Agree with you on the second point. It is precisely because it does "not exist in the minds of the voters" that the WP chauvinist and race bigots can command only 0.2% - 0.3% of the minority Malay and Indian votes.

in the 60s weren't the malays rioting? back in the early 19th and 20th century blacks were looked as non humans, chinese were treated like crap by the whites.

How about how the malays view the chinese calling them cina babi and all sorts of unpleasant terms? That's fine correct? You don't have anything constructive to add you racist.

Actually in the eyes of the minorities and English eds, Pritam and Faisal are WP's token minority showpieces, only needed to enable the WP chauvinists to contest in a GRC.

As explained to you a few times, Pritam's candidacy in Aljunied GRC was not due to the minority candidate requirement.
Yet you continue to utter this untruth, which shows a lot about your character.
Go and speak to Pritam, and find out more about the thoughts of a successful WP member who is not disgruntled.

A person unrelenting arguing that another is racist, this itself is a racist conduct. There is no definition in the dictionary that a racist cannot belong to a minority race.

You notice that women who lobby against male chauvinism are usually known as "feminist". Same principle applies.

If that person is racist, it's better that he's against WP than on the side of WP. If he's on WP's side, WP will really be racist.

This is why I am only posting my first post in such threads. It's pointless arguing so much.

Huan Na is just a term meaning indigenous people. I met a malay guy who knows hokkien during NS, he also used the term "huan na" on his own ethnicity. Nobody sees that as an issue.
