PARLIAMENT | Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (PAS-Pasir MAS) expressed hope that the alcoholic beverage industry will no longer be in Malaysia one day.

"We hope the alcohol industry does not end up in our country. It may need to go through a gradual educational process, so that people see alcohol as not a necessity in their lives.

"People need to be given the understanding that alcohol is not part of our life norms," he said when debating a bill to amend the Road Transport Act 1987.

The amendment, among others, is to increase the punishment for drunk drivers.

Fadhli said, if there are no more alcoholic beverages, it will resolve the issue of drunk driving without the need to introduce strict laws as in the amendment.

Regarding temporary measures, he suggested that parking around the bar be restricted.

It is to prevent people from driving there, instead encouraging them to use public transport or e-hailing.

Last year, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, now a minister in the prime minister's department (parliament and law), said the party had no intention of banning the sale of alcoholic beverages if they became the federal government.

He stressed that in Kelantan, non-Muslims are never forbidden to buy and drink it.

"In terms of Islam, alcohol is allowed for non-Muslims. PAS, as an Islamic-based party, has no intention of making an untrue policy for alcohol for non-Muslims," he added

It's all a numbers game. In a self-professed Muslim country, those PAS fuckstains have some political leverage. For now, they are fringe.

US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh uttered the word “beer” 29 times before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.
“I liked beer,” the federal judge testified.
“I still like beer.”
But one person who does not like beer – and who does not admire Kavanaugh’s enthusiasm for the malt beverage – is the man who nominated him for the high court: US President Donald Trump.

“I don’t drink beer,” Trump told reporters Tuesday. “I’ve never had a beer. And I’m not saying good or bad, some people like it. I just choose not to do that for a lot of reasons.”
