I'm speculating that the intense focus on Tanjong Pagar GRC is a response to DPP's recent entry there. Unlike RP, DPP may be perceived to have a credible GRC team which was the same as Chiam's A team.

Yes indeed. One of the contentious issue at the last 2 GE horse trading session was which party was more active on the ground. They are assuming that Sembawang, BT, BP etc are in the bag. At the last GE, DPP expressed interest to contest TP but withdrew.

Anyway the demographics suggest that DPP would have a better appeal just on the language front.

It is about time to do it regularly, get residents' attention, know them well, speak to them, hear their view, and by GE2016, SDP is really to take over Tg Pagar GRC.

If SDP can get their best candidates in Tanjong Pagar, they are worth supporting over Ben Pwee's DPP.

But SDP's top teams will still be in HBP and Sembawang, and unless they have enough good candidates, TP is unlikely to have the best SDP team.

DPP's best team will be in TP in the end. I don't think they will really wrangle with SPP over Bishan. But despite the credentials, this party is odd and ambiguous in position. When it comes to being friendly to PAP, this party really takes the cake by setting up companies and funds jointly with former PAP MPs. WP is nothing compared to them. Their press releases are even more mild and unclear than NSP.

Good news. Keep up the presence on the ground till 2016. Don't forget to consolidate vote gains in BP and Holland-BT by continuing to walk the ground there; keep the block parties coming.

It would be good if Prof Tambyah can lead a strong team in TP; it would be a team with a very good chance wrest over control in a dying man's realm.

A lot also depends on the kind of candidates and members SDP can attract from now till 2016, so party positioning and branding is very important.

Agree. They should just concentrate on HBP. They have 2 pluses here, the new generation of SDP candidates who are better and not tainted and Viv B who is not well liked anyway.

Wrong move. After Anson / Blair plain episode, they removed minority ethnic concentration risk long time ago. PT would not appeal to that set of demographics. PT and his family are well known among professionals though he does not wear the skin of the elite. He and VW plus a good replacement for Michelle would be ideal in HBP.

SDP is notorious for making bad political strategy and tactics, let not this be another one.

The PAP put a half Chinese and Cantonese there for a particular pupose. I could have said half Indian but that does not make sense to the voters of TP.

SDP should not make the same mistake as Rabid GohMS in GE2011, who thought he had the mandate of Heaven, with many above average candidates at his disposal. But instead of concentrating his firepower on a few strategically chosen locations, he greedily sprinkled the manpower around dreaming of becoming the no.1 Oppo

In my opinion, the priority should still be H-BT GRC, BP SMC.

It is the last jaw of the old fart which needs to be extracted, Kee Chiu is best ended up like George Yeo or Lim Hwee Hua, Lily Neo will be freed from PAP bad image, Indrajee Singh the great pretender will be make redundant. It will end happily according to Singaporeans' wishes.

LKY is an easy target in the next election, Goh Chok Tong tenure in Marine Parade is equally risky depending on how Tan Chuan Jin perform for the next 3 years, Tin Pei Lin is a goner.

It will be good if SDP and DPP co-ally (behind close door and don't repeat what happened in WP/SDP saga during the PE) in TP GRC to ensure a sure win because the former has the guts and the latter has the expertise to manage a town.
