Net lost 5kg (not water weight, because I weigh on a normal mid day after lunch) within 3 months, and not counting the increase in muscle weight.
All the people in this forum are all shape and sizes, as well as different health, physical, and medical conditions.
I am just sharing because it worked for me so far. And you can do it for the better, I believe one should try rather than dream of it.
IMO, do what is personally achievable but stick to the principle, and see if it works for you. Talk to many people, different people will give advise with a certain degree of variation. Because every one is abit different, what work for some, may work to a higher or lesser degree for others.
Personally, my stamina was no good. No stamina means difficult to achieve intense workout for prolong period, and get punctured. ( I still smoke after a few sets :o )
So, I try to eat clean, many people cannot count calories, just like me, I don't go into the macros, I just eat enough not to feel hungry. Sometimes, I have four or five meals. Seldom snack, I drink 4 to 6 liters a day on workout days. About 3 liters on non workout days. I don't take sugary drinks, but occasionally only...like 3 coke in a span of 3 months. Fruit juice with no sugar added, watered down to take with my multi vitamins for better absorption (that's what I was told, to neutralize the acidity in an empty stomach).
There were temptations to yummy food, but after sometime, I don't have the strong urge or desire to eat those oily, yummy food. I still like them, but no constant cravings. I do have a cheat day or two in a week or a couple of week. But once satiated, that's it, it comes naturally, because you don't want all the time and effort spent in physical improvement to be wasted.
I worked on my stamina, light weights, short rest periods between sets. I think this can be achieved by most people, and you will feel good if you meet your objective. For a start, just get 2-3kg weights, high reps of 30 to 40 per set, with about 8 to 12 seconds rests between sets, every morning for 30 to 40 minutes, and sweat like a pig. Because it get harder after each set with little rest in between, = increase in intensity as I progress in the in the number of sets.
Walk long distance at your pace to build up your core, then try sprint abit, short distance, if cannot tahan, do it at your own pace and intensity. I tried but buay tahan. So I go cycling on even ground, then sometimes dirt road, dirt road cycling more siong but good workout for whole body.
No point, go heavy on weghts to boost your ego, but can't complete with good form and reps. If don't do proper form, you don't work the muscle properly and prone to injury. One will lose interest after sometime. Don't care what the other guy is doing, but do what is achievable and you will see the improvement.
Once you see improvement, however slight, that will motivate you to continue and preserver.
I take amino acids to prevent muscle breakdown, that's why interested to know how to prevent catabolism. Because more muscle means higher metabolic rate = less fat = lower cholesterol.
Even if I research on the lactic acid, cortisol produced from dieting etc. there are so much stuff that counter acts, reacts or boost fat burning etc. I go bonkers, so I stick to the basics, not too concerned with the macros, but still keep abreast and do research to satisfy my queries as I progress.
Regardless of condition, some workout better than no workout. I also find that after sweating a lot over a period of months, my immune system gets better. no shit.
Thanks you to those forum members who shared their knowledge for the betterment of others.
This is my small contribution, hope it helps.
Just move some iron, feel the "DOMS" Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness" and you know you are non the way there to Muscle growth for size, if not increase in muscle endurance.
Lastly, if you are an RC dog, fuck you. I don't wish ill of you but get out of my sight, don't press my door bell or rattle the locks of my gate.
You guys ever seen those ppl that jog regularly but still look fat?
I know of one guy completed a couple of marathons but still looks quite fat. What does this say?
That's why you see programs like p-90x and insanity preach intensity but not everyone can do it and you need to do it on a consistent basis like everyday with a rest day per week. Then fix your diet and you will be trim without needing to do such high intensity workouts. I think those that are too lazy to workout or workout intensely enough should just find ways to eat better.
