Promotion wise, OMS should be faster than LMS because there are no grades between the ranks for the former.

PSC scholarship still exist, these scholar will be given more choice about moving between the different Ministries in their career.

Yes, you are right. LMS is already an untouchable although not on an accelerated career path like an OMS.

dun u al agree that CPIB personels esp the head should not be someone within MHA

esp SPF???

CPIB is duel with corruption... They need to have investigation knowledge... If you don't get from the SPF than where should they get??? You prefer someone which do not know investigation to head this department??? How is he going to catch people who are corrupted?? How is he going to decide whether want to submit for charges when his man ask him???

Your brain got problem???

That's right. Current CP, an OMS even asked for OC STAR posting and he succeeded. Given lots of options in their career and postings within the civil service. Kena trouble also well-shielded. In the eyes of the big bosses, scholars can do no wrong. If wrong, they were misled by their subordinates.

LMS not really consider scholars....these 2 must be pretty impressive or good in PLP to climb so high.
I thot ET was a PSC cum Fulbright scholar....must have mixed up with another guy.

WHK's career more impressive than ET. Latter's shot up only after he left ISD. I suspect it is the former who is a Fulbright scholar. Not ET otherwise he would have told me! WHK was absorbed into Admin Service when he was in his early 30s. Not even sure if ET belongs to that elite club.

Question is can he get the respect from the veterans since he got zilch experience in his new role.

No problem. Not many old timers left in CPIB. Machiam veteran gangsters, they also need to feel secure in CPIB and the last thing they want is to challenge the new boss. Many were unhappy when their own weren't made DD in the past. But also LL and kuai kuai. They are the compliant type. SPF and ISD chaps occupied the number 2 seat in the past. The big question now is whether ET's specially selected Dir Invest will stay on. Maybe not for long and to allow new chap to settle in and bring in his kakis from the SPF.

CPIB chaps under PMO. If they don't get someone from a law enforcement agency within MHA, get from where? You need someone familiar with the law and investigation matters.

We had the likes of the late Ponniah Rajaretnam, Ronald Naidoo heading the CPIB in the early years. They were from the SPF too.

The former was found dead on the river-bed of the Seria River in Brunei when he was sent there as Advisor on Corruption, whereas the latter was arrested for drink driving here and charged in court.

Dunno whether he is still breathing at the public's expense.

Thanks bro for the info. Yes, Rajaretnam was 'hit' when in Brunei. Was told he was on to something big and had to be eliminated. No idea on Ronald. Wasn't around when these two were.

Former CP and former Director of Prisons were SAFOS, and they were in 1 SIR (prior to 1978), as you indicated "scholars can do no wrong", but those 2 had to be posted out of the SAF, and were sent to the SPF.

Good. Ah Teng can go back to SPF and be director, international corporation or director, special projects. Or give him high profile job - Commander TP.

No dogs like you and Ah Teng can go sweep the floor at the Istana! LoL

Do you realise by this sort of system , Pinky Loong has instead 'encourage' his minions and even his MiniStar that the consequences are not so servere that they can be lax, still draw a high pay before and after failing and they feel 'protected' whatever their failings has resulted in any outcome?

Oh I forgot their Big Boss Loong also gets the same level of 'protection' from his father!

Pile of shits accumulating with a Bigger pile of shits!

Yes, agree. But they weren't penalise for their screw-ups in the SAF. Both still rose to the top in SPF. One still hanging on to his Sr DS post.
