My other officer colleague at HQ 2SIB were on the Board of Inquiry, and they were not penalized, except to be posted to the SPF, where they rose to the top.
I heard that the soldiers under their command, rebelled against them.
Based on the little that I read, WHK looks like a very high flyer, because he joined the SPF in or about 1995, and within about 15 years, in 2010, he was promoted to Deputy Commissioner, which is 6 ranks within 15 years (ASP, DSP, SUPT, DAC, AC, SAC, DC). He also went to Harvard University for his MBA during that 15 years.
I think the only other person who went up faster than WHK was Aubeck Kam who is now a PS. AK was OMS. WHK LMS. So WHK did very well. I don't recall Benedict Cheong rising as fast as these two when he was with the SPF. WHK did not spend his career entirely in the SPF. I believe he was seconded to a ministry before his WDA posting. Looks like he is following the footsteps of Leo Yip.
They were not made to be in the Army. Same can be said for the Police. No idea where's best for them.

OK. PMO got a National Population and Talent Division. He can be Deputy Director, Naturalisation. Or transfer him to MEWR as Director, Burials, Cremations and Exhumations.

In Australia, it is the department of the prime minister. In Malaysia, it is the Prime Minister's Department. The Indian PM is in charge of the Departments of Space and Atomic Energy. The Sri Lankan PMO has a full staff similar to a ministry (secretary, additional secretary, senior assistant secretary etc). The Ontario Premier's Office has charge of Intergovernmental Affairs and Agriculture and Food. It is really up to the PM to decide how to divide up the ministries - Singapore has a Ministry of Law, Malaysia has a Minister, Prime Minister's Department who is in charge of the subjects which would have been under a Ministry of Law.

Don't recall him being posted to CID. He was Head Ops, Commander of a Land Div and later Dir Ops before being upgraded to DC (Policy).

I always enjoyed reading scroobal's contributions. May not be 100% accurate all the time but still solid substance. He must have been quite a senior chap in govt service to know the many things he wrote.
