Not sure if anyone noticed that last week was quite a momentous week. We had one cabinet minister and one designated cabinet minister both playing the race card. The master at this was Old Man who was keenly aware what it could do and how to do it. His speech in Malay about the Malays in the Malaysia Parliament was a classic.
I was suprised that Ong Ke Yung who looked decent decided to play hardball. I am sure those who were sharp enough knew that he was stating that he could not trust the English educated as they played him out in first year Pre U at RJC. He also commented that he was glad that he was in Maris Stella and preferred the Chinese main strean because the language imparted values. To those not familiar, Chinese ed and English ed have always been treated by the PAP as two separate races for political expediency. The PAP is not the only one, other political parties have long done it.
Viv B followed by commenting that those who are anti-FT might turn on the minorities eventually. This is pure mischief. Every true Singaporean whether Ah Beng, Ahmad, Muthu, Meenatchi, Mina or Ah Lian have one common issue with FT who are of poor quality, and do not measure up. Its a united front, you fucking arsehole. Old Man took the imperialist approach of divide and conquer and now Viv B doing the very same.
I won't be surpised that playing the race card is going to be the main instrument of the PAP in 2016.
To all English educated Singaporeans who have become dishinest and have no values or wrong values because you were educated in the English stream keeping quiet is not the answer. I waited for the past few days and I have not heard a wimper from anyone. I am sure most can read what was written and there can be only one interpretation.
