Well, if this is the case, then there is no possibility of sending sound, rational, common sense and sanity into these people. There is no point talking sense to insane people. And of course, there is nothing we could do to prevent insane people from doing illogical things.

Sorry, but a better example would be if the results were pap 49%, opposition party A 44% and opposition party B 7%.
Opposition party B still thinks and claims that their candidates are the best.
In my opinion, they may be slightly deluded, but not necessarily insane.
But if you are part of opposition party A, what should you do before the elections?
Surely you should do your very best to persuade and convince party B not to stand in that constituency, because their votes may have all gone to party A, hence securing the victory.
Whether they are insane or deluded is not the point, convincing and negotiating with them is the key.

Some cases are not so straightforward.

Anyway, I realise that there might be a flaw in GMS argument. If NSP Jurong meets RP also in Jurong which is led by, say, Tony Tan, either one might lose their deposit. But if it's NSP losing deposit, can they say their team is not better?

Actually, for those seats that are not so clear, it could always have a comparison. If NSP has indicated its interests and nobody objected, NSP will throw in resources, time and effort to work on the ground. If other parties wanted to stand in that GRC, negotiation could be work out.

Election preparations should be started right after the last elections. Granted that RP is new, there will always be rooms for negotiation.

Anyway, i think for GRCs there will be no 3 corners, nothing to worry there. There might however be for single wards. We know PAP has kept few single wards, so that one may be inevitable.

Good News. There has never been GRC 3 corners in the whole Singapore history General Elections.

NCMP shall pay higher than NMP because opposition had to contest in General Election.

I propose NCMP allowance shall be three time higher than NMP

NSP candidate shall be humble and respect voters choice. We must win back support from voters who prepare to PAP. We can see from our walkabout.

Why cannot form an alliance?

1) No team work skill
2) Unable accept different view
3) Poor Negotiation
4) Too many Indian Chief

All opposition know that the NCMP and NMP system is a replacement from one party system to one dominant party. Change name but same contain.

Gutama Buddha said never feel any person is evil or kind, always think for positive and solve the current issues. Since they want us to be NCMP, so we must fight for higher salary. If karma want us to win than Thank to God for blessing for us to be a MP or cabinet.

Why no MPs bring up about the high election deposits again? This is another factor directly affecting the number of constituencies and GRCs the opposition can contest.

Why a nation need high election deposits?

Poor Quality of Political Party.

If we had high quality International Standard, we do not need election deposit. Only nation who had low class standard needed high election deposit.

As long as the opposition can sort it out among themselves, and avoid 3 cornered fights, the likelihood of opposition losing deposits remains slim. Independent candidates look more likely to lose their money though.
