lol if even McDonald’s can close down, this tells us a lot about the economy than the simple competition from Jolibee. What are ppl eating these days? White bread?

Macdonald is just too expensive for the kind of food served. Anyway Mac made money from renting property to the franchiser.

Sad. The only vintage McDonalds outlets I know in that area are: the basement of Parklane mall, and the small one at the basement of Forum Galleria.

The two nostalgic McDonalds outlets in Orchard Rd for me that are no more: Liat Towers (the first McDonalds in the entire SG), and the one at the old Plaza Singapura (at its entrance).

Let's see what the McDonalds at Lucky Plaza will be replaced by. Jollibee already exists at the main food court.

More Sinkies are staying home to eat. The Govt tells us to tighten our belts, but many of us cannot even afford a pair of pants!

How can MacDonald’s philosophy of providing consistent quality tasting burgers worldwide be upheld when they serve their Big Macs here with pretend bacon ?

Very sad since 1990 there are many local teenagers (born in 70s) worked part-time at the Lucky Plaza and Far East Plaza McDonalds back then local girls are much prettier than now and even the deaf local young girls in the arcade games centres are prettier and sexily than the current PRC and Korean actresses.

I missed those good old days :inlove:

I explored Shaw House and the Lido theatre lobby for the first time after many years. I believe that place had undergone a massive renovation. Back in the day, as you came up the escalators, McDonalds was the first thing that you saw as you entered the door. Now it has been replaced by some ticketing counters, while McDonalds has been shifted further inside to the right.

There is also a large round circular bench, with one side next to the glass windows, sitting there gives a good view of the busy road junction below.

The old Macs at Centerpoint brings back lots of memories for me.

I don't remember eating at Mcdonald. The last time I eat something there was probably 15 years ago. It serves expensive, unfulling junk foods filled with salt and sugar. Don't get me started on the type of oil they used and the source of meat. I know certain sinky"tribe" prefered eating there, resulted in many bloated individual having to rely on motorised wheelchairs to help them zoom around with disregard to other people safety.

What the f ? Haha…. Where did that come from?

They are local pretty girls from the deaf community in the Sinkieland. When I was teenager I learned sign language before, just I am timid to approach them. The old Orchard Emerald 2nd level were arcade games centres and after school (JC) used to hang out there near Centrepoint and the old Specialists' Shopping Centre. These local deaf girls were dare to dress revealing sexy haiz if I am bold enough maybe I can get one of them to my gf ... my regret
