Ya you can say it that way indeed. I read somewhere that without doing screening, stomach cancer is usually only found in stage 4 meaning die in months or with 5% survival rate in 5 years.
i have posted about this many times more than 6.9 years ago. stomach screening for h. pylori and pre-cancer conditions was non-existent in sg for over 5 decades. i talked to the medical community in sg over 6.9 years ago, and sinkie docs told me it was “stress-related”. asked them about a simple breath test kit designed to detect h. pylori in tummy, and they were clueless, dismissing h. pylori as another bacteria scare. they thought acids in stomach could kill all these bacteria. well, bacteria survives in not only the stomach but also the entire gi tract from mouth, throat to karchng kang. good bacteria helps to digest and process your food while bad bacteria causes all kinds of nasty ailments. the simple breath test as i’ve posted before comprises a mixture of solutions. after gulping down a cup, in just 15 minutes, blow into breath-capture packet with a valve, and send packet in to lab for analysis. in just a few days results will cum in to tell whether it’s negative or positive. if positive, need further examination by scheduling for an endoscopy session so gi tract specialist can inspect damage or extent of cell mutation in the tummy, usually closer to duodenum, where food, acid, and bacteria concentrate like in a jacuzzi.

I know what you said but it is too late for me. I had h pylori and removed it back in 2007/8. That’s why i was always sick in SFC then. I don’t have h pylori now, or at least that’s what the Mount Elizabeth doctor that diagnosed my IM said. Come to think of it, don’t know can trust him or not. When I did some reading subsequently and asked him is my IM complete or incomplete type, he also can’t answer me, said no difference still must do surveillance but I later read somewhere that incomplete means the progress to cancer risk is 4x or something like that.

I also watched a Stanford video doctor said once you had h pylori for years until age 40 or something like that, it’s a given you will get IM. But for Angmoh the risk of progression to cancer is alot less than East Asians.
