What's even more amusing is DPM Teo's subsequent comments on Mr Low's media conference. "He (Low Thia Khiang) had a very combative tone last night which really, really surprised. But I do hope that he will move away from the combative tone which he took during the by-election and work in a constructive way with the government."

If DPM Teo or the PAP were to think that they bettered the result in Hougang from the previous elections, because of such gutter politics, they are mistaken; for as Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss rightly pointed out in her FB note, that even if percentage-wise the PAP has done better than GE 2006 and GE 2011, they had actually gotten lesser votes than they did in GE 2006.

I echo the sentiments of people who have remarked that there has to be a change of style in the way PAP does politics. It will be indeed sad if the Party has not realised this by now.

I am surprise that our DPM Teo does not like combative mode, after all, he began his career in the army.

Combative also means have fire of passion in work. One would succeed if he is willing to fight.

By condemning LTK as combative, does DPM Teo also applies his dislike to anyone in PAP being combative? Life is definitely good if there is no one to challenge you in or out of the the party, but it is really damning for the future of the party and the country if PAP is going to ruling Singapore in this manner.

When you remove the so call "combative" from the equation, there is no passion, there is no fire. No one will bother to criticise should any error or weakness formed within the party. Imagine that the only thing the PAP does when anything goes wrong is to blame any external parties such as the people, the opposition, the world economy, etc. Anyone but them. Is PAP so good that they really cannot be faulted for anything, history certainly proves otherwise. PAP lacks the ability to self-reflect, which is the main reason for it's in-ability to outgrow its present condition.

It is no wonder that PAP is totally ignorant during the election and the by-election, thinking that they stand on good ground simply because they wrote off any criticism, challenges to them. Its controlled media speaks nothing bad and everything good about the party, its shear financial capability allows its resources to fight the battle. Certainly being the top is good and it also leads to complacency within the party itself. It is also the reason for many down falls.

The least DPM Teo should do at least is to be able to receive the blow from WP, not complaining that WP is agressive.

Give DPM Teo a break. He is stressed out as he is supposed to help Desmond do better. That was his job and he was suppose to show the "new boy" the rope.

LKY is an opportunist & many in the PAP are "biznismen" looking for a quick profit. Where else can you become a multi-millionaire by just agreeing with the great LEE-der

Even if you are not one of the top earners in the party, the job includes perks like free parking, time to play golf at taxpayers expense, $$$ from directorships, access to nubile media corpse artistes,...:p It's an opportunity to rub shoulders with the makers & shakers of Spore.

Change would only occure if something changes like the death of the old dinosaur or the 60% waking up I see the 1st happening pretty soon. LKY's dad lived until he was 94 & that's probably when LKY is likely to up the lorry. Just hope that Sporens hang on until then
