halal bak kut teh is just another option, nobody forces you to eat. if you thk pork kut teh is much better then go ahead with it.
make the earth a better place to live with lesser noise.

bak kut teh without pork is a minor loss, bak kut teh without the spices is a total loss.
many great cuisines can retain its taste even changed to pork, but bak kut teh loses its flavor when changed to other meat?
sounds like a failure to me.
