When he got that chap from hk to head the operation, I have my doubts. Maintenance is not about technical know how alone. It involves experience, exposure and quick correct respond. Very few individuals have such qualities. This head must be hands on, not merely planning and writing. I guess smrt needs to look for a new guy who understands what is ground operation of a system with sensitivity like the mrt where lives of public are affected directly and immediately when there is minor hiccup. SP provided power supply without disruption and is taken for granted. It doesn't come easy. There are set maintenance schedule they carry out deligently. Just cannot imagine if one of these guys take over our power supply and screw up everything. Until smrt develop that maintenance know how and the discpline to enforce it, we can only pray for the best.

Desmond Quek Bak Chye SMRT CEO time is up and he must resign immediately if he still has any pride.

The longer he is in SMRT, the worst it is for "stink" (quote from Anton Casey) Singaporeans who need to take public transportation.

Passengers are forced to alight SMRT Trains and buses and walking on tracks and high way.


Just this morning, many passengers and office workers were forced to alight SMRT bus and walking on BKE high way.

An SMRT bus that broke down on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) and brought Thursday morning's rush hour traffic to a standstill has been removed.

The Land Transport Authority said the SMRT bus broke down at the Bukit Panjang Road entrance into the BKE.

Photos from readers showed commuters caught in the jam alighting from buses and walking away.

Talk good abt strategy on paper is useless.. first thing to go in a war are the strategies and plans... good generals have real experience in the battleground, and use this to manipulate the battles to their advantage.. with so much troubles at SMRT since he took over, shows he dun have the initiative or experience to overcome these problems... yes, you're right.. he's doing OJT at our expense.. now cannot solve the problem and still dare to tell us to give up more time for the trips! :oIo:
