I learned from Japs, the Germans and the Swiss not the PAP.
In Switzerland, you can be fined for flushing your toilet after 10 pm in an apartment block. A small issue and often done inadvertently. However, the fine still stands.

Do you still remember Desmond Kuek Bak Chye? He was appointment as CEO of SMRT in Oct 2012. However in Nov 2012, there was a strike by SMRT workers and he was no where to be seen as he was on overseas holidays.

SBS, SMRT ...same lah. They are both overpaying management and underservicing commuters. And we pay more and more.
For commissioning of new lines, I think the main responsibility lies with LTA. With so many screw up due to wrong choice of expensive material and mce that is dead from day one, it shows you need a technical man at the top. Not a silly scholar from Japan.
