He has done an excellent job over the past year and the huge improvement in SMRT operations is there for all to see.

This proves beyond doubt that the SAF produces leaders of high calibre who can take charge of any situation or organisation.

What have you been seeing that we have not seen?

President and CEO of SMRT Corporation Limited
Lieutenant-General (R),
PJG, PBM, PPA(E), Datuk Paduka Seri

Train operator SMRT has confirmed that former Chief of Defence Force, Mr Desmond Kuek will serve as the company's new chief executive and president.

Mr Kuek will start his new role on Oct 1, after leaving the Administrative Service on Sept 30.

what do you think of SMRT Service level and KPI? Improving? do you think Desmand Kuek is a better CEO than Saw Phaik Hwa?

He sure knows how to cover his behind. To declare that he will need 5 years to solve the current problems shows how incompetent he was. And the problems continue to pile up. And he has kept quiet. If problems persist after 5 years, he can then declare that those are new problems and he will require another 5 years to solve them.
The SMRT board must be pretty useless to accept the CEO's timeline.

When you are an elite, your incompetence is ignored. Only public pressure can force the sacking of Desmond Kuek and the SMRT board.

Have they given you a special VIP card that you can have an empty car for yourself and special help when the trains break down which is still so frequent?

No but I've taken mass transit trains in many countries and Singapore compares favourably compared to most.

A notification to him and he will fix it. Often, the mess up is inadvertent.

Yes that's exactly what I did. A notification was issued via the infraction system.

The mess up is inadvertent. I never suggested it was done on purpose. However, a preview of a message will reveal such errors and corrections can be made before the message is posted.

That was a good move. Too many Singaporeans were squandering their life savings in months.

What about personal responsibility? It should apply here as well. You can't pick and choose when the principle should apply. You sama sama like the PAP.

ok lah, 2 points is not a big deal. But it is still annoying to be 'punished' for something that trivial and was done inadvertently.

If every error is treated as trivial and no big deal just because it was not done on purpose, the world will be in a very sorry state.

We need such unions in sinkapore to restore some balance of power between employers and employees.
The tube system, complemented by the bus system, is so reliable that most Londoners don't bother with car ownership. That's a choice, not one that is forced by onerous taxes on car ownership.

Society is much better when people are not hung up over triviality. You have been away but you are still so PAP.
