There are negative feelings which indian's may get as well, but i have not heard any hate talks by any of my indian friends.... against locals

Btw the river Ganges is a holy river, you better talk with respect! i will be out of this thread which is full of negativity... but a humble request to have a accepting attitude.. there are a lot of things which we as a minority have to face in singapore..... u can not even think about it

people from India are normally head hunted into this small island called singaproe which as a place i have started to love and very much enjoy working here... It is my country now.. just like some of your parents may have migrated here a few decades back. Sorry to disappoint some of you guys not going anywhere!!!

what bothers me is the so much negativity which i often sense coming out of a singaporean .. specially a particular race.. (which u can easily guess what i am referring to)..

Just look at the so many anti Indian comments which my post has attracted simply shows whats filled within.... so i do agree there are cultural differences between the way an Indian of my age has grown up and a young singaproean may have grown up... so it is difficult to go hand in hand... but integration also means acceptance not necessarily walking hand in hand... it means an internal feeling of oneness...

I have not seen any marginal ism towards locals in any of my past jobs, i may have been fortunate or unfortunate

I could sense the same feeling that you have mentioned about Indians about locals... so it may be a psychological gap which just needs to be filled....

I just hope if such kind of attitude is maintained by the locals, then i can say that it would be difficult for singapore to progress as much as it had done until now...

We have been progressing well as a nation even before the recent influx of your countrymen into our country.. When I say as a Nation, I meant the 4 major races in Spore, the local Chinese, the Malays, the local Indians and our Eurasians.. We may have our own differences with one another but there's no denying the fact that the people from these 4 major races from the past generations were the ones who sweat blood and tears for this nation during the early days of Independent from Malaysia.. All you Indian FTs think too highly of yourselves.. When it comes to the crunch, all you FTs from India will be the first to leave the country.. I have seen many cases of your countrymen fleeing back to your native Mother India after selling their HDB flats for a profit.. I have seen many of your fellow countrymen renouncing their PRs and packing their luggages and heading back to your Mother India when the time comes for their sons to serve the compulsory National Service.. I have seen many of your fellow countrymen declaring their love for Spore during the beginning of their stay but subsequently leaving this country few years later for a much better paid job in the West.. Just stick to your Cricket.. But we Sporeans will just stick to our favourite national sport that is football..

Best for you to stick to the Living in JB Thread then, you know you won't be very welcome here based on you being a FT and all. However don't talk like this is your country, you are a PR and not a citizen. A citizenship despite how cheaply the PAP government is selling and offering is a privilege not an entitlement. Fast forward to 2011, I make just under $6.2k, I’m married and my wife is unemployed. I am still renting an HDB, but the smallest possible configuration. Taking a PR was the biggest mistake.
