My HP follows the elevation of my dick.

I remember a few times, when I was doing Glenda Chong, my hp rose to 230/130, in that range.

Went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and my blood pressure was 150/100. Doc told me that I had to get it down or he'd have to prescribe medication.

Monitored by blood pressure at home for the last 10 days. It has never gone above 120/75. The Omron bp monitor I'm using has been calibrated and is accurate.

What should I do? Any doctors in the house?

I am no doc nor bomoh but knows a bit about BP.

150/100 is damn bad......... if prolonged you will get cardio problems.

Device at doc's n your home may not be in sync but the diff is far too great. I tend to accept your hom readings as accurate as whillst at doc's your heart may be racing or yuou may having stress. Readings at different time of the day are different even with same device. There try to take it at same time in the day.

You can suppress your BP by pressing very hard with your thumb at the accupressure point 3 fingers away from where your wrist line (palm down) at the centre line. Press hard for at least a minute. Your BP will drop. Try same press at point formed by bone junction of index finger and thumb in the submerged area. Left side prreferred as it is shorter distance to the heart.

120/75 is beautiful - you can screw Singtel at least 3x without problem..

doesnt really matter what time it is sam..
you went to a doctor because you were not feeling well right? or was it just a routine checkup?
HP could rise if you are not well, so long the high HP isnt for a long period of time( e.g lasting 2 weeks or more),
it really isnt a cause for concern.

stop being paranoid. go see a doctor if you are really worried.

Afternoon... about 3 pm.

Yeah I did that years ago because I was suffering from LOW blood pressure. It wasn't a compact watch in the good old days. It was a huge contraption that had to be strapped on with a belt around the waist.

I think I'll just continue monitoring my own BP and tell the doctor to bugger off.

Get 2nd opinion esp from good cardiologist

I cycle 350 km per week. I'm 60kg and you can count my ribs. I can't possibly do anymore exercise. I'd die of exhaustion.:p Food in NZ isn't salty either.. no MSG and very little sodium as there is no unhealthy hawker stuff here. Hardly eat red meat... mainly fish.

Probably need to join the tonychat vegan club. There I've said it myself before he butts in.
I was like you when I was your age. "Perfect" weight, blood pressure ..... base on medical definition. A few years back, I got a mild stroke. It was shocking. No sign or symptom, it just happened. Spontaneous, would be an appropriate word to describe it. Stay in high intensive care for a week - just going through MRI and all kinds of scans. Cost nearly 10 k and senior doc recommend to insert a scope to my brain as he was unable to determine the cause of the stroke Felt real disgusted that all the scans are nothing but real scams. Later learnt from friends that doc would mark up by $200 for each scan. They get to pocket these extras for doing nothing as report of each scan is made by other doc. I concluded that no doc can be better than ourselves. Be prepared for "spontaneous" medical condition. Do our best to avoid them. To sporty people who are no longer young; slow down even if we are feeling fit and fine with perfect bp, pulse rate ...

Ah Leong, nothing to worry about. The readings taken at the doctor's place always will be higher because of your mental state. Your doc should be aware of this situation and would not be overly concerned. Your Omron is OK and as long as your readings at home remained at the range you posted, you should be OK. Pretty good in fact.

The majority of strokes are caused by blood clots which have nothing to do with blood pressure. The best advice I can give is to to take low dose Aspirin. I've been on it for the last 20 years.

The only downside is that if you cut yourself, it takes longer for the bleeding to stop.

There are millions of vegan Ah Nehs with high blood pressure and clogged arteries.

absolutely spot on!

my neighbours indian family all strict vegetarians but one by one all died from massive heart attacks because of clogged arteries...starting with the father and then then one by one , the brothers all - despite treatment and good management. many had sudden heart attacks and died immediately. genes i think play a very important part too.
