Bangkok, Oriental setting
And the city don't know that the city is getting...

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me...

Paul Rogers, of the power vocals, formed Bad Company after disbanding from the great Free. Cream was a iconic three piece band consisting of Clapton, Ginger Baker and the bassist cant remb his name liao. These groups succesfully blended blues with rock and revolutionised music of that era.

About Led Zep, it was a real rush to see Jimmy Page perform atop the double decker at the Olympic close! Whole Lotta Love wow!

But these are all Brit groups. On the other side of the Altlantic, people like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joni Mitchell, Dylan etc were breaking out and starting a whole new culture.

Actually I think they had their first big hits in the mid 60s first with Spicks and Specs as they were coming over from Australia back to UK and in fact had hits in every decade after that 60s-90s not sure about the 21C though. Also their younger Bro, Andy (he had a big hits I Just want to Be Your Everything & Shadow Dancing) was the first of the Gibbs to pass away, quite tragically at a young age after "Dallas" tv star Victoria Principal broke up with him. Their biggie albums were Saturday Night Fever and Spirits Having Flown which tied in with their famous UNICEF concert where Bro Andy sung a duet with Olivia Newton John called Rest Your Love On Me.

Btw, i think the Bee Gees where never short of talent for change. They began as a more than good pop group in the early seventies with hits like Marley Purt Drive, I started a Joke, To Love Somebody to name a few. A decade after that, they evolved and in fact spearheaded the 'Disco Fever' of the eighties. One of the great groups, in my humble opinion. Rest In Peace, Maurice Gibbs. :p

I was wondering at which page someone would mention the god of rock guitars Jimmy Hendrix. Hey Joe, Foxy lady, WatchTower, Purple Haze, Like A Rolling Stone, Stars and Stripes, man Jimmy really rocked and also smashed guitars:biggrin:

Another favourite of mine is Gary Moore with Still Got The Blues. Also Jeff Beck who together with Clapton and Page formed the triumvirate of all time British rock guitarist greats.

Apart from pure rock, I think nobody beats The King, Elvis. What a voice, and what charisma.

Groupwise, The Beatles are probably The Immortals, but if we looking at just the 60s I think Beach Boys come close with their landmark album Pet Sounds that apparently even blew the minds of Mccartney and Lennon.

See Lionel Ritchie (longan lychee:biggrin:) afro hairstyle bring a smile to me hehe. Those days all black singers (from michael jackson to jimi hendrix) used this type of hairstyle - the bigger the better! :p
