Will SDP accept NCMP offer ?

I'm not sure if this has been asked. Or that SDP has ever stated its stance on this.

I'm a fan of the SDP but I must admit the SDP would likely gain the least % of votes from the electorate. SDP's methods while considered mild in western democracies would be considered as confrontational and unrestrained if measured using the contemporary “Chinese” yardstick. Singaporeans prefer the "gentlemen" approach to politics. This was exactly what LKY tried to pass off as "Asian Values".

So what has it got to do with its stance on NCMP ?

they should.
at least their voices can still be heard and people can see their performance even though they do not have the power to vote.

SDP will never get the votes. It is not just confrontational, it is outright clownish.

1. The "hunger strike" with glucose.
2. Sacking the doyen of opposition politics, Chiam See Tong.
3. Being the only people who have been successfully sued for branding someone (Chiam) as a PAP man.
4. The LOUDHAILER incident - Firstly Chee's allegations were unfounded. Secondly, even if they were not unfounded, the way he did it made him like a clown. And it is clownish by any standards, not just Singapore. Howard Dean had to drop out of the US Presidential Race for doing much less.
5. The fallout between Ling/Cheo (at least they were once MPs) and the MONGREL who bit his masters' hands LOUDHAILER chee soon juan.
6. Last elections - their candidates were the only ones who did not muster at least 30% of the votes and all of them to bat.

I could go on.

If somehow SDP gets enough percentage for an NCMP seat on offer, and if such offer is accepted, who should take it up?

the constituency candidates that won the NCMP seat.

If can chose, who better than Chee Soon Juan. :D

If it's an SMC, then it's straightforward. If it's a GRC, then got to choose among team members.

The NCMP is a good chance for the opposition to show their ability to serve. Thus SDP should accept the NCMP offer.

Dr Chee Soon Juan does not piss me off. I admire his fighting spirit. What frustrates me is his inability to differentiate between what works and what is self-destructive.

Once again, any opposition party, not just the SDP, should accept the NCMP offer. It is a no-brainer question. Acceptance is based on opportunity to demonstrate prowess so that a track record will be in place for future elections.

That's what I'd expect a dog to say.:D

Good points. Agree - pride and ego have no place for pragmatism; take it up and prove his worth. He is articulate and eloquent, something not so common among the Opp so far. That is an vital skillset in Parliament for the Opp.
