sunday. another hilarious and unexpected outcome. wifey fell in love with robinson.

a couple days ago, she bought some TRIUMP bras from robinson. each costing $69. one however had a defective clip which couldn't undo. yesterday, she went back to robinson to complain. i told her that such undergarment usually was not exchangeable once paid n left shop.

she said she would show the defective bra to the sales person or supervisor. it wasn't her fault she tested one ok n take for granted the rest would be too. she was greeted with presumably a PRC salesgirl who was refusing to exchange. wifey got pissed n demanded to see another sales person or the supervisor to complain.

the commotion attracted the supervisor who checked the bra and agreed that it was defective. without another word of defence, she willingly brought wifey to exchange a new one.

don't u love to shop at robinson! their service is impeccable! robinson should do a stock check on their sales personnels especially those very crude and ignorant PRCs. the wifey's only apprehension now is that with such FTs as sales personnel, robinson might soon lose their reputation of excellence in service.

It is advisable to check your stuff before you leave the store. I was given a box of SK II masks with less one piece ...5 instead of 6. And yes, I was served by a prc girl. I didn't check until I reached home. But kudos to Robinsons.....they apologized and gave me another piece with no questions asked.

that's why wifey loves robinson. but one couldn't help feeling that this type of impeccable service may not continue for long looking at the type of PRC sale staff that they are getting. she said she still prefer those oldtimer sales aunties who were friendly n very helpful. their passion to serve the customers is priceless!

leethabar, bring wife to Bangkok. Bras and panties very cheap here in any department stores, I think almost half price. Most bras & panties of all sort of brands are made in Thailand. Yes you can say Thailand is hub for bras and panties. Many sinkies come here buy alot. No regret for wife but if you pay maybe you regret.

Vivacious so what do you think about SKII's mask? I mean seriously any good compared to other brands?

I find the facial treatment mask good compared to other brands. You get a smooth radiant "feel" after applying......haha maybe it is psychological cos of the price. But definitely makes the face porcelain like when applying foundation post application of mask.....well worth the price. :p

the essence of this thread is to highlight the people behind the services which truly representative of robinson which is a sg trademark. the introduction of FTs such as crude and quite useless unhelpful prc and put them into the service sector does injustice to the company with an impeccable service history.

was at zi yean yesterday. they ve also replaced almost ALL the friendly local aunties as their service crew with prc mei meis. those girls might be young but hell! their service is horrible!! beginning to understand why biz there is usually very quiet. their service switch customers off.

for everyone's latest info: zi yean's dimsum now only less 15%. b4 was 30%. b4 the b4 was 50%. their service less 150%, i.e, if can avoid, pls avoid totally.

Agree whole heartedly that Robinson is a good place to shop.

I bought my WMF cookware there & when I brought it home, found that it wasn't induction friendly. Seems that WMF has 2 identical lines lines, the only difference is one cannot be used with induction ovens. Was able to exchange it without any fuss.

When ever possible I do my shopping there.

I once applied unsuccessfully for a job at Robinsons. They were the only company to send me a nice letter telling me that my application was unsuccessful:eek: You gotta respect such a company :)

You don't need SKII. You need FotoShop.

Since when you got married? How come didn't invite me to your wedding?

The discount gets less and less because it's approaching CNY. The service got worse and worse because I wasn't there and the waitresses were in a disappointed mood.

ok i gotta share this with u guys.

was there with the wifey to exchange her defective bras. while waiting and feeling bored, i tested some perfume. the salesgirl was so sweet and persuasive and unwittingly ended buying 2 bottles of ISSEY MIYAKE. one for lady and one for man. to make my purchase worthwhile, the cute salesgirl put out 2 lady's bags, a pair of traveller bottled perfume, some very fragrant shower gels traveller's pack and dunno what else. she said i made her day but confidentially she made mine too.

when the wifey came back smiling happily, i chucked the whole bag of perfumes and all the freebies to her. she was so thrilled she kissed me on the spot!

although i had no use for the perfumes but some how rather i think i was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic service offered.

I ought to try it as I buy for wife so often and never try it before. Thank you vivacious for the feedback.

leethabar, I am sorry and I don't mean to hijack this thread its just that I cannot control myself whenever there is a bargain and I need to share it with everyone. Oh about zi yean, I think even 3 years ago its history.

I agree with you Robinson is top in customer care since a long time ago. I wish to clarify one thing about Robinson since we are talking about this departmental store, Robinson in Thailand and Robinson in the Philippines has got nothing to do with Robinson Singapore. All of them are independent of one another so don't expect much from Robinsons in these 2 countries, they're not related and nothing to do with one another.

You are so damn sweet leethabar. For her its not the price you paid its the thought and its priceless. Congratulation buddy.

Oh they're not related. Thanks for info. When I cheong Hatyai I always go Hatyai Robinson shopping and suki. Price and service good dah :)

Robinson's has always been a couple of notches above the rest when it comes to customer service and quality of merchandise.

They should refrain from cheapening themselves, like the rest of Peesai.

Cheers!

yes.. got great service at robinson a few times, and they willingly extended some expired gift vouchers as well.

FTs who are replacing singaporeans in service jobs do not really in anyway boost the good reputation of the company. for companies which continue to employ becos of cheaper labour who stand to lose more customers. even in robinson, it's already beginning to happen.

as for zi yean, it's already being disreputated by the slew of PRCs. even serving at discounted prices, the restaurant is usually quite bare. let that be an example to other service sector.

Robinsons was originally started by brits with a tradition of good service. In modern day Spore service has gone out the window with the influx of cheap FT. What to do, this is the path the PAP has chosen for Spore:(

the path chosen is primarily first for themselves, then for spore. they are good in their words but by the look at their action, we suffer. the nation is mouth-gagged unless u could win them by verbal debate. if not, just silently swallow their bitter pills, bend down, get screwed and continue to diarhoea for the next 5 yrs.
