Nothing was known about mahomet that could be accepted by historians. There was no known reliable historical records that existed or survived. Sources such as hadith and sunnahs only create more uncertainty as many contradicts quranic verses and based on hearsays.

The early arab conquest did not rely on the quran as it was not available widely yet and hence they studied the greek, persian, roman classics and knowledge from other civilisation.

It's hard for mohameddans to repent because they are so certain that they can save themselves by following a special diet and rituals. But God already made it clear that hypocrites can follow rituals but their hearts are far from God. Nobody can save themselves by good deeds, especially the way moslems define 'good deeds'.
