There's a no such thing as free legal advice on a representation basis unless you're charged under a case assigned with a CLAS lawyer FOC or a good friend or relative of yours is a lawyer, close enough to waive the bill or pay it it he/herself to his/her firm. Free legal advice is provided by lawyers on media talk shows and articles, however, not case-specific and they won't bear professional responsibility or representation for it.

For criminal law, you can ask any police friend if you have one. However, the scope of laws is very broad. That's why police trained doesn't mean legal trained. Police is mainly trained in criminal, penal, traffic and miscellaneous laws only. Again, police can't take professional responsibility or make professional representation for you and most even won't give any advice pending unless there's a relationship compelling personal obligation.

For civil law advice, my advice is you look for a lawyer and ask, how much? Looking for FOC can be suicidal.

RP used to provide a so-called free legal clinic but the bunch has defected to NSP. I'm not sure if it's continued at NSP.
