For a solid day, the cable cars with its passenegers hung precariously over the Keppel waters and no Army generals dared to come fwd. Eventually, a rescue was attempted and even then by a foreign team. When everything is back on solid land, then only our hero Col LHL stepped out and walked off into the sunset, bathed in glory.

If I could remember correctly, it took an inordinately long time to start the rescue. It was not as if it was a dynamic situation involving terrorists. It was a dead situation involving the science of launching an appropriate rescue.

That's quite true.

There will be two major hurdles qwhich will test LHL's character:

1. Whether demise of LKY will cause PAP internal struggle against LHL's leadership
2. Whether he is able to recruit real talented people to stand for him at the next GE.

I foresee LHL's downfall within the next 10 years

To prevent a political drubbing, perhaps the best way out for LHL is to say that his health compels him to retire.

From results of PE 2011 and BE-HG 2012, it wont surprise many if LHL gets defeated at the next GE if a strong Opposition Team contests against him.

It depends on how many more mistakes he will make, and how much more singaporean will be awaken.
Some dynasty cannot be over-throw by force, some just rots by itself.
