Kopi I am beginning that you are a shared nick because you are quite a few personalities. Sometimes you are this zen like person, sometimes you are objective, then sometimes you go a little overboard with the praises for the PAP and then I wonder about your credibility. Perhaps a little more consistency is needed to settle you down. i don't think you are a bad person anyways.

Not that I am looking to insult you or anything but just an objective view from what I see sometimes.

Thank you. I respect all your observations of KopiUncle.Believe you me, Kopi is Kopi alone. No sharing of my nickj. Anyway, who wants to share Kopisai with me.
I am a pariah here you know - everyone ,esp the MOO GANG loves to whack, infract and ban Kopi. It's good to stay far far away from Kopi....haha:smile:

I think people are making a big fuss over nothing. With careful planning and active cooperation, if necessary enforced with a suitable fine, all of which is perfectly within gahmen's capability, we can easily manage even 10m. Some suggestions for gahmen to consider. Many of these are already in place in other places

1. Apartments to be shared between two families - after all, they are empty and unused most of the time when one bunch is away at school and work. If necessary, school and work can be staggered to accommodate this.
2. Based on IC numbers, designated time to allot to visit NTUC, banks, clinics etc. So if your number end with 4, you only visit Thursday.
3. Hourglass given with meals in all hawker centers, food courts. If you run out of sand, pay $$$. Done in some Paris cafes already.
4. No private cars, only car pooling. This will cut down car population by 80% as most cars are parked 90% of time. Some European cities enforce this already
5. Communal kitchens, washing machines and child/elderly care at void deck of every block, this can reduce maids by 90% already - so even more 'quality' people can be allowed in to compensate. Bonus is that homes need not have kitchens or space for washing. Can easily double or triple no. of units in one block without affecting lifestyle (ok, only moderately). Again this is done already in many Soviet regimes.

I am sure we can come up with more ideas...

From what I have observe...

Not many govt is able to come out with a long term planning for the country. This is probably becoz most of them could only hold the office (US, Japan and some european countries) for 1 or 2 term. Counties like China and Malaysia are the one that have long term planning for it's people. I think Workers' Party knew about it and had made it clear to his supporters that WP are not ready to form a Govt. So to have PAP contine to be in power is good or bad I leave it to you.

See my thread, bargaining power for Singaporeans.

http://sammyboy.com/showthread.php?143543-Bargaining-power-for-Singaporeans

Dot don't want 6.9m population by 2030. Dot is opposed to this stupid master plan. How can we stop the juggernaut that is the PAP and the technocracy? What can we do?

Some solutions may seem obvious e.g. vote the PAP out. But the PAP is likely to retain a majority past 2030, so voting them out of power is a slow process and is not the solution.

Someone has to got to stop this madness, and it has to be the citizens!

Dotology: are dots dense?

We should just attend the NSP's rally on 16 Feb as a start and see whether sinkies are fed up enough to have a massive show.

If Hong Lim park does not overflow on that day, then i think i will revert to my Plan B.

Get the FUCK outta here!!!!

This is a ridiculous fallacy that many have swallowed, lock stock and barrel...the 'my way or everything becomes slum, your women become maids' or 'apre moi la deluge' argument...does it mean to say Uncle or others that have changing regime can't do planning for more than their term? If you believe that, I dont know what to say. Even in horribly partisan politics, there are things they do that have national consensus.

kopi kopi.... please know this....in the end EVERYBODY dies alone.....

just because you have people watching you die doesnt mean that they will be there to go along with you for that next journey.

Most important is that you know at the time of your leaving, that you have lived a life well lived with no regrets and with laughter everyday and leaving behind many people who love you with many happy memories of you in their lives so that when they think of you they will laugh then they will cry......, that is the legacy of life

you are right Travelor...all is emptiness....legacy of life is also a delusion....many people want to build a legacy after their death...they built castles, they built palaces, they built massive statues, they reaped billions, they stored massive gold bullions and cash...but after their death....it's all emptiness....gone ...gone with the wind...the evils they had committed and the unwholesome deeds they had done will haunt them for seven generations....

nothing in this world you can take with you so why all that greed?

in the end the riches are nothing but a curse on your own family if they are not brought up well to manage it......if it is ill gotten, then like you said the consequences are even more dire especially added with a sharp dash of irony brought about by Karma....The inescapable force of one
