The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail section was opened in just over a month. The ticketing system of the West Kowloon Station of the High Speed Rail was once "depreciated" for nearly two hours yesterday. Over 100 passengers blasted the ticket office. The self-service ticket vending machines and ticket collection at West Kowloon Station were not operational yesterday. The ticketing office had to change the original way to hand-written tickets. There was no passenger information on the tickets and there was no allocation. It was contrary to the requirement for the real-name system for the purchase of high-speed rail tickets. Many passengers admitted that they were extremely disappointed that the high-speed rail was suddenly depressed. Some people even decided to give up their tickets. The MTR explained that Hong Kong's ticketing system and the mainland network connection data transmission was unstable yesterday and failed to issue tickets. The incident did not involve hacking.
The West Kowloon Station of the High Speed Rail started at about 8 pm yesterday. The ticketing system was faulty. The ticket office can only use the original handwritten tickets and only receive tickets for departure within two hours. Some of the passengers who ordered the high-speed rail tickets from the "12306" website of the MTR, which was earlier than the MTR, were awarded the ticket voucher by the MTR staff. There was a broadcast in the station to remind passengers of the ticketing system failure. The MTR also sent staff to assist the queuing passengers at the ticket office. However, there were still hundreds of passengers waiting in the counter, and some people even made noise.
Has been in operation for more than a month, passengers are disappointed
Until about 10 o'clock, the ticketing system and self-service ticket vending machines began to return to normal operation. Ms. Ma, the passenger affected by the incident, said that her six people planned to take the high-speed train to Guangzhou South and then went to Foshan to play. Some of the family members returned to the United States from the United States. She said that she suddenly had to queue up to buy tickets, and she could not use credit cards and other payments. "It is convenient." The family originally looked forward to the high-speed rail, but suddenly they were unable to purchase tickets. "I feel so disappointed that it will take more than a month to become a shackle, as if I am not ready!"
Ms. Li Shengji, the head of MTR's vehicle operations, said that at about 8:05 in the morning, officers at West Kowloon Station noticed that the ticketing system in Hong Kong was unstable. As a result, the sales of staff was started. Computers, ticket machines and telephone bookings were suspended. The standby system was successfully activated at 9.45 am and the tickets for the sale of West Kowloon Station to Shenzhen North and Futian were resumed. By 10:15 am, the entire system resumed operation. Li also said that during the fault period, the station order was generally good. Passengers could go to the ticket counters in the Mainland to buy tickets. The operation did not have any major impact or confusion. The relevant units in the Mainland are studying how to improve in the future.
Handwritten tickets without passenger information and location
Originally, the purchase of a high-speed rail ticket required a real-name system. Some personal information will be listed on the ticket. However, as seen yesterday, the handwritten ticket was changed. No passenger information was recorded and there was no position. The MTR stated that the West Kowloon Station adopted a simplified ticket purchase procedure yesterday. The MTR has been maintaining communication with the Mainland railway operators on the contingency measures and has been co-operating and will not affect passengers' exit.
Passengers who ordered high-speed rail tickets on the website earlier were awarded a ticket voucher by the MTR staff.
