Helen Clark is regarded by all New Zealanders as the worst PM they ever had. She was soundly defeated in the last GE by John Keys who was just returned for another term with increased majority. Helen Clark led NZ to its worst economic conditions. Instead of focusing on bread and butter issues essential to the people's daily living, she spend time on worthless projects like saving the whales and preserving some old expedition wreckage in South Pole or something like that. It was little wonder she was badly routed and in fact it was so bad she disappeared from the scene for quite awhile.
So for somewhere with such a notorius track record that all Kiwis are ashamed of, how much importance should we give to her speeches, including this one praising S'pore?
