He booked the car on 12th April @ 5 pm, but didn't do an inspection and take photos of the car. He claimed it was dark. 5 pm in Singapore is dark ? First lie exposed ! When he returned the car to Get Go after dinner, he noticed a bump on the car. He simply assumed that it was hit and run, and reported it to Get Go.
The question is why should Get Go believe him ? Didn't he know that when he inspected the car before moving off, that was the moment for him to verify if the car had scratches left by the previous driver ? Get Go has cars all over carparks in Singapore, and it's always the duty of the 'next' driver to report on the condition.
Then he thought he was smart and brought up a photo that was taken on 9th April that proved the bump was already there on the 9th April. That proved the damage was sustained not on 12th April, but on or before 9th April. But that is no proof that the car sustained the damage during a time when it was not under his care.
You want to rent a car, you must be prepared to pay for damages below the insurance excess of $3,000. If you don't want to pay, then inspect the car thoroughly before you drive off. Or take a Grab. Or buy a Lexus. Don't bring "God" into the picture. The evildoer is NOT Get Go. There are terms and conditions in the Agreement. If he did not bother to inspect the car before driving off, I doubt he would bother to read the terms and conditions.
I really don’t understand why need to rent this so called short period cars. Knn , need to haolian or need so much convenience meh? If you book grab the whole day, chances are the cost will still be lower.
