Gosh! Have we wondered how many indirect tax we have by owning and using a car?

Beside Insurance and carpark charges we have

Interest Tax - ARF
Vehical Tax - Road Tax
Entitlement Tax - COE
Gantry Tax - ERP
Milelage Tax - Petrol Tax

and of course GST on the initial purchase.

Top notch idea that is slowly transplanted on our other items... aka datang

Gantry Tax - ERP

I rather see the Gantry Tax as Usage Tax. Nowadays, you drive anywhere, you are sure to run into a gantry. Besides, it rhyme better with the rest of the taxes.

p/s:
Vehical ---> Vehicle
Milelage ---> Mileage
:D

I won't be surprised if next on the line is carbon tax ...oops.. hope I'm not giving them ideas.

how about HDB parking, carparking, insurance, servicing, wear and tear?
These also considered Tax later for the govt as well!

One does not need a car in dot sized sgp.... there is the well connected mrt, lrt and the ever self-blowing bus system.... so tax the drivers... these people need to wake up their idea... NS is killing sgp....

Yeaj...u r right...but why i'm seeing more cars than ever on the road...

cost of ownership not cheap, those buying cars shld consider adding another few hundred per mnth for petrol , tax , repairs etc on top of the installement payment

PM Lee says ERP makes it "more affordable" for Singaporeans to own cars. But he's not going to abolish ARF and COE. I wonder what's so "more affordable". In fact, it makes it more unaffordable for car owners to drive cars, and also more unaffordable to own cars at the same time. Because, if a carowner drives around, he incurs lots of ERP charges. If he parks it, he incur carpark charges. Then own car for what?

you left out the capital depreciation part....

Do we actually own a car?? If we own the car, why can't we drive it for as long as we want?? Instead of paying the Govt every 10 years so that it can stay on the road??

Just like our HDB?? Do we actually own it or are we renting it for 99 years??

How else did LKY get that 400-500++ billions in his Temasick and GIC?

You think LKY know how to make money?

LKY stole all that from you backed by his kangaroo judges.

Because you all have no balls

Sinkies got no balls
You all dare not stand with those that tried to speak for you.
You all dare not give money to them so that they can work for you.
You all dare not support them publicly so that they can speak for you.

You all turn your backs on those that spoke out bravely against LKY
LKY hit out at those who tried to speak for you with his kangaroo courts
You turn your backs and not support them with money and courage.

You let them be beaten and bankrupted because you all have no balls

Why complain now?

Your 400-500++ billions sucked and bled into LKY Temasick and GIC

And even more billions are currently sucked and bled so that LKY can use those money to bastardised and pay his kangaroo courts and running dogs to bleed even more billions from you in future

You got what you all deserved
for your lack of balls

FIND YOUR BALLS TO PUT AN END TO LKY

or open your legs to be further screwed by him

I think one of the reasons given for COE is to get rid of 'OLD' cars which breakdown & cause blockages :)

they should implement the rules like china......monday - only odd plates number car can drive on the road, tuesday Even car plates number car and so on

like dat...50% cut straight away....not need all those stupid ERP
