The Bizarre Case Of Xi Li Ge

that's assuming he can get his sanity back. hopefully he is not permanently damaged by what happened in the past 12 years.

Cases like this are presumably temporary breakdown from exrtreme loneliness and culture shock fueled by shameful remorse and inadequacy to provide for himself and his family but he is not insane by the way he clothed himself in the weather. He is more in danger from those doctors who will try to prise him open like a nutcase than his old village family and friends and he stands a good chance of recovery at home than in mental asylum.

I don't think he was all that in the past 12 years from the good shape that he is still in. A slight mental deterioration maybe and the ineptitude shown in the video is the classic sign of someone at a crossroad >>> should I cross over and be a real cuckoo? He could recover if given the right enviroments and assurances that he is not mad like the one who flew over the cuckoo's nest.

His real name is Zheng Kuo Yong born in 1976...

He is famous now, maybe he could cash in for all the lost time...

Get a manager and do the rounds of talkshows, he will be rich in no time at all.

He can't change the past but obviously he can look very much into the future if he is able to get his act together.

Go, 犀利哥 , Go...Take them for all their worths...

Your intentions are obvously good. BUT please do not give out-of-mind, X-dresser LeeTarBah any ideas.

Pls do not laugh at him because its a very sad case.

He was finally re-united with his family after his brother and mum saw him on TV. He was from a northen city (can't remember which one), went to Ningbo for work and lost contact with his family 12 years ago.

How he went bonkers? He came from a very poor village, has 2 kids and was under a lot of pressure from his wife due to financial difficulties. He went to Ningbo to look for work. However, he did not make much money there and was too embarrassed to go home. He finally collapsed under pressure/depression.

The sad story does not end here. His wife and dad went looking for him and were both killed in an accident a few years ago.
It is a very sad case, but it had a somewhat happy ending in that he was at least reunited with his family.
I said that it was bizarre not in the sense that it was a laughing matter, but at how powerful the internet has become and how much hype it can create.
When people first saw his pictures, they thought he looked really cool and like a movie star and that was when people started superimposing pictures of him wearing designer suits and the like.
When they found him, he could hardly talk and would burst into tears. After they cut his hair and put him in clean clothes, he looked like any ordinary man and the hype died down as quickly as it started.
Besides the power of the internet, this case also shows how appearances can be deceiving (not necessarily in a bad way in this case), and how easily and quickly people can influence one another.

Hopefully, with family support and in a more familiar environment, he will get better.
The strange thing is that some people (the so-called sane ones) are very quick to comment that this or that person is insane.
But is the line between sanity and insanity very thick or very thin?
Is there such a thing as total sanity or total insanity?

All psychologists should know that there's no such thing as absolute sanity. All humans have some forms of insanity in various degrees. Such degrees as long as not breaching majority social norms are considered sanity. At law however, insanity must be complete loss of control of the mind and the mind completely loss of control of physical action.

By that legal criteria, this guy's not insane. He's more like having suffered a severe nervous breakdown and gave up purpose in life, straying along.
