A 19-year-old teen committed suicide by jumping into a reservoir just before he was about to board a plane for the U.K. and return to boarding school for the term after the Christmas holidays.
The only son of the family, the teen has been feeling stressed about academics and returned home in a low mood, but was unwilling to confide to his family despite his father’s repeated attempts to show concern.
Last Sunday, the father drove his son to the airport to board his flight and watched him enter the departure hall. However, the next day, he called his son and found that he has not returned to the UK and called the police.
Two nights ago, the young man’s body was found in the Tai Lam Chung reservoir along with his backpack, shoes, phone, and personal belongings, to the parents’ devastation.
