I'm neither hoping nor wishful thinking nor doomsaying. Just personal analysis. The China TT team (and other teams and individuals) will be diehard wanting results on British soil after Britain scored their best haul of medals on Chinese soil in Beijing 2008 after a downward slide over a century. Of course. Britain won't be interested in TT. There're many other events Britain can strike gold with. But China is and every medal matters for face, especially those Britain, US and Russia won't be interested in. The chance of Singapore PRC TT Team B against China (and Japan and the two Koreas) is as good as none. What else is there?

The more interesting event to watch is football. When Britain played in the Olympics as Britain, they won gold thrice. The four home nation teams (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) were for home championships only. When Britain wanted to join the FIFA World Cup after WW2, FIFA allowed them to play-off amongst themselves to decide which team would represent Britain. IOC objected and Britain had never fielded a football team in th Olympics ever since, maintaining the four teams which would go into European qualifying round groups as the draw of lots decide. Same for Euro championship.

The only team sports to support is our National swimming team.. All the swimmers are Singaporean thru and thru.. I regard Tao Li as one of us.. Even though she's China born, but she has been in Spore since young.. I hope the table tennis team flunk big time..

AK mentioned about Yachting having good chance. Our Yachting team is only good at Asian level. When they meet the crazy ang mos who loves to sail around the works, the chances is low.

By the way, Alarm King mentioned he had a master degree from down under and he could not even spell yachting properly.
