Chitchat Take me back to 1984 cp & far east kid

I think only the Big Mac and Fillet had the styrofoam box. The Cheeseburger and (used to have) the Hamburger were paper wrapped from start (1979?). Not sure about the Quarterpounder, didn't eat that.

I may have remembered wrong though... too long ago
Yes the more expensive ones in styrofoam and the hamburger and cheeseburger were wrapped. The fillet o fish box was blue.

Liat towers MacD was where all the kids and youngsters hangout. Before far east and CP kids were the macdonald’s kids

I've notice that there's another ice skating center located in the Jurong or Kallang area. I wonder if any fellow SBF'er members might be one of the individuals with large group of long hair member who frequently hangout at this location.
Ice skating rink in Jurong was where yaohan was.

Orh this one also a later era of sg.
By then I was already an adult.
It was the Kallang leisure park, I think now still there, next to the indoor stadium.

But the ice skating was a different ball game as the roller skating ring.
Roller skating ones has dimmed disco lightings with music as loud as disco. Whereas ice skating is much more tone down environment.

Hamburger was 80cents and Cheeseburger was $1 back then .... back then, KFC is family restaurant with big white plates, metal fork and knife when you eat dine in and finish off with a banana split ice-cream .... :whistling:
KFC it wasn’t called that but Kentucky fried chicken.
It had cutlery and table cloth in red white checkers.
Bottled chilli and ketchup at each table.
We as a prank always stuffed the chicken bones into the bottles
So we always ask for brand new sauce bottles when we eat there ourselves

Roller skating was booming at Kallang.
Skating rinks big and small opened up everywhere.
Paramount Katong had one. many were old converted cinemas. Goldhill plaza now United square had one. Supreme metro where park mall is now. Cuppage orchard plaza had theirs which later become discos. Even Amara hotel had one
Smaller ones at Balestier point Serangoon etc

And do you mean inline skating?

I only went leegularly to gold hill, the bigger ring, and supreme metro, a smaller one.
The rest I wasn't aware of.

Used to be called Leisure Drome
The ice skating rink came first then it became a roller skating rink. Then it became a bowling alley (Kallang Bowl)
Inline skating came later I dun know of any inline skating rink maybe the Sentosa one? Before it became the musical fountain. Even that is gone now
