Apple has announced that it plans to start manufacturing one of its Mac computers, the Mac mini, in the United States starting this year.

Sabih Khan, Apple’s chief operating officer, shared the development as part of a video interview with The Wall Street Journal.

“We’re very excited to tell you that later this year we will be beginning Mac mini manufacturing right here in this space,” Khan tells the Journal during a tour of a Foxconn facility in Houston, Texas.

When asked how many Mac mini computers Apple makes per year, Khan answers that Apple makes “thousands every week.”

“Over time, we want to scale Mac mini here to serve our customers in this area,” Khan says about global manufacturing of the desktop computer.

The Mac mini is currently manufactured in Vietnam and China. Apple has previously pushed the low-volume Mac Pro as Apple’s made-in-America desktop computer, starting in 2013 and continuing in 2019.

The video also shows never-before-seen footage inside GlobalWafers and TSMC facilities located in the Arizona.

Both the Mac mini manufacturing announcement and the WSJ piece focused on Apple’s efforts to bring manufacturing to the US are undoubtedly timed with President Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address, scheduled for Tuesday, February 24.

Apple continues to work around increased costs associated with tariffs on imported products.

Baby steps into making China economically irrelevant again like in the good old days.

No worries, prostitution and scamming are the evergreen two pillars to support the economy of China. :sneaky:
