Police hunt Melbourne teenager's killer after suspect caught on CCTV fleeing scene
Shocking details have emerged about the man being grilled over the brutal stabbing of Melbourne schoolgirl Masa Vukotic.
Police believe that after killing the teenager, murder suspect, Sean Price, continued his chilling rampage.
In the hours before handing himself into police at Sunshine this morning, he is accused of committing a rape and carjacking in the area.
Seven News can also reveal the suspect was reporting to authorities because of an existing court order when he was arrested over Masa's death.
Last year, he was charged with threatening to kill police.
At an earlier press conference, Detective Inspector Michael Hughes said the man, aged in his 20s, was known to police.
"He's been cautioned and we have to be mindful of his rights. If, as a (result) of being interviewed today, he's charged, we'll release his name and all that information will come out from there," he said.
The man handed himself into police at Sunshine after CCTV footage was released on Wednesday showing a man they wanted to question after the teenager was stabbed to death in what police believe was a random attack.
He said the man in custody, from Albion in Melbourne's western suburbs, had no known links to Masa.
Police are still investigating whether he has any links to the area where she died, since the linear park is not easy to find.
"He was in the area. Was he there for sinister purposes? I don't know," the detective said.
"We'll probably find out there is a connection to that location."
Police were no longer looking for any other suspect, Det Insp Hughes said.

The 17-year-old's body was found near a footbridge in Koonung Creek Linear Reserve in Stanton Street in Doncaster at 6:50pm on Wednesday after neighbours heard screaming and saw a man fleeing the scene.
Paramedics arrived soon after but were unable to revive the Ms Vukotic, who had been stabbed in the upper body.
The CCTV footage, released by police on Thursday, showed a man running up Heyington Avenue shortly after the attack holding a white plastic shopping bag which police believe may contain the weapon.
Fresh CCTV of a man borading a bus near where Masa was murdered was released overnight.
