Japan newspapers are written by journalists... professionals... while singapore straits times are "told" what to report by the state.... now you know the reason for the cost differential.....

I suggest you do some research on this subject matter. However, it is not easy to find information for outsiders.

Competent professional journalist will never be able to make a career in 154th Shit Times. They will be hammered for telling facts as it should be (especially local news concerning the government ). That's the reason why 154th will never be able to improve.

You can be a left, right or moderate newpaper. Just like newspapers in US and Europe. But professional journalistic standards require that newspaper provide the facts and let the readers decide.

Readers can clearly judged the 154th low journalistic standards. lol

Given the high volume prints and the higher advertisement costs, plus black and white in Japan, it should be far lower. But................... Content is less than that of Singapore in many ways as they say close to nothing and report more domestic squabbling with no direction in sight.

You mean telling less lies to the citizens?

The government of Singapore tells more truths than most other nations. Disclosure of appropriate information depends on timing and sensitivities. The government of Singapore makes changes and adjustments faster than any country in the world, while ensuring that Singaporeans can enjoy a comfortable decent lifestyle.

We all agree that the Singapore government gives us a high standard of living, among the highest in the world. As any proud Singaporean we should be thankful to them.

However, the issue of the 154th Singapore press not having the freedom of reporting is known worldwide and undeniable. Let's us keep this issue in proper perspective.

The ranking numbers are undeniable. But is it really 154th in quality? Would you seriously want to rank Afghanistan together with Singapore, in spite of Afghanistan being a culture with rich heritage?

It only vindicates the value of the Straits Times that defies the foreign sanctioned ranking of 154th which perhaps is politically motivated against the well being of Singapore.

All statements in the world of intellectual discourse are equally truthful or hollow. It is a matter of whether we accept a statement as premise, axiom or otherwise.
Statements should be simple, especially for argumentation, to ensure rigor in argument structure formulation. However, simple belies the power that it may wield. These are the fundamentals of science, maths and logic.

Sounds like you threw every phrase that seems to fit, and hope that it confuses everyone till the point they think you're right.

For sure he is no Robirosa or Kakowi, half the time I don't understand what the fuck he is talking about and that's not because of a lack of knowledge of English. Come to think of it, the reason could be he was speaking Paplish all along.

Do not worry. The government of Singpore has confidence in the next generation. The government of Singapore cannot stop members of previous generations who choose to attribute all problems to the current regime. While the government of Singapore welcomes constructive suggestions for the country's success, those suggestions are few and far in between. The fact that destructive naysayers are not elected to parliament shows that the majority of Singaporeans think rationally.
