If you whine about PAP is the Father and Son Party, then SPP is the Husband and Wife Party.

Chiam See Tong should just retire from politics.

Agree fully. SPP is entirely Chiamily show, even Sin Ke Tong as the chairman is out the husband and wife's loop. Benjamin Phwee was a accidental and lucky last minute catch for the bid of Bishan-T GRC.

SPP is a narrow individuality party. Party chairman also like Sec-General, too selfish to give way to younger candidate with better chance to win in Hong Kah SMC. His own ego to run a contest is bigger than the opposition clause against the incumbent.

Agree that Mr Chiam practice nepotism and refuse to give way to younger members like Lee Kuan Yew as he does not trust them. I think bitter experience from the spiltting of SDP and SDA makes him kiasu and wary of outsides except the ones in his inner circle. His party has less than 100 people and they are mostly his friends and some Potong Pasir residents. Mr Low at least never make the mistake of putting his wife, son or daughter in Hougang but has groomed a successor in the form of Yaw Shin Leong. His ratings is even better than Mr Low in the 2006 elections. It shows that Mr Low have laid the foundations well for his successor.
