Singapore History <--- written by winner!

I think we have to ask the British whether his father is the same man whom his mother married. He of cos will say it just cannot happen in any other way because then who is the guy he calls Dad now.

Here is an analogy.

If we know that Sideswipe is with his second wife and if we asked him when he was first married, he cannot state that he was not married before unless that marriage was annulled. Sideswiped cannot say that its immaterial. The fact is that the event occurred. Whether its is important or not is a whole different matter.

Prof Edwin Lee is a well regarded Historian. Ever wondered why he put it in his book.

These guys do not know the meaning of fact, pov, etc. Now even the definition of materiality is not understood.

Fortuitously, things turned out the way they did, and Singapore joined the rest to become Malaysia and later got evicted. What was significant at the time was that LKY wasnt sure with all the ding dongs going on with the referendum in sabah, sarwak and borneo territs, that M'sia would go ahead. If it didnt, and if he had left it at that, Singapore could not be independent. Which was I supposed why he had forced the British and Tengku's hands and had it enshrined in the Proclamation para 4 that whatever happened, Singapore would go ahead and declare its independence to become free with its own defence and ext affairs control.

Given that S'pore later became separated, of cos this date became of no significance now. Many people did not know that we were on tenterhooks and was balanced on a knife's edge. Even less would wonder what would have happened had the UN survey turned out negative.

This was just my ten cents worth to highlight seemingly innocuous events and insignificant episodes which could have turned out to be preponderous tipping points.

considering the grand scheme of things. what significance does it matter for singapore, malaya or the british when singapore supposedly was an independent sovereign country from 1 sep to 15 sep 1963. it matter to nothing at all...

hahaha....now we have the lights at the end of the tunnel and for those who have no time to follow the debate, let me summarise as follows:

Myth: LKY did a UDI (Unilateral Declaration of Independence) on 31 Aug 1963.
Fact: LKY did not do a UDI. He held a public event on 31 Aug 1963 to put pressure on the British and Tunku to implement the London
Agreement on 16 Sep 1963 to form the Federations of Malaysia failing which Singapore will assert her rights to freedom.
Evidence:
1. ST report dated 1 Sep 1963
2. London Agremment and Malaysia Act
3. the Proclaimation
Supporting evidence: Britain did not take action against LKY because it was not a blatant act of UDI.
Common sense: UDI is a "significant" event which cannot be treated as trivial and forgotten/ignored in any Country's History.

Myth busted once and for all.
Those interested in the details can read the above document.

Conclusion: the following were confirmed as idiotic scums who have no integrity at all - kingrant, scroobal, tfbh.

your opinion about this supposedly forgotten fact of singapore history that presumably held great significance at that moment in time is accepted.

sammyboy forum internet moniker screwball analogy on wife and marriage in post #58 reminded me of something.

it is due time that screwball responds to internet moniker jw5 assertions on the real life screwball being a low life cuckold coward sinkie loser and pap scum doggie. some assertions that were made: screw’s wife openly having an affair with an ang moh. screw’s daughter being a slut. the bad/poor upbringing in screw’s family. all this are unimportant. what still held some significance in this mickey mouse forum is that screw is still a closet pap supporter who disguises himself as a friend of the opposition but actually carried out a persistent despicable sabotage of the opposition cause in this forum over the years. something like this. i don’t really bother to read and remember everything about this imbecile screw in the forum. apparently. since internet moniker screw didn’t respond to those strong assertions toward him by jw5. i have to assume that silence by screw mean yes, shame and acknowledgement. actually, i don’t give a shit about screw. internet moniker sideswipe is just writing all this for the sake for nothing really…

Kukubird has no idea who his father is, but he'll go on blissfully believing that the man whom her mother married must be the one and no other.

That's how he treats revelations of little known but inconvenient facts in history and in life.

hahaha....this is the final nail in the coffin...
Singapore Government press statement MC.AU.59/63 (PM)....
Anybody with basic English language competency will know that it is not a declaration for a sovereign independent country...or what some wise guys refer to as UDI....
i wonder whether those who were unmoved earlier will acknowledge the fact now.

hahaha...Sam, pse make this thread sticky...
the Singapore Government Press Statement is a gem to close all doubts on this matter that there was no UDI on 31 Aug 1963
let all who understand English read and decides whether kukubird or scroobal/kingrant/tfbh is the real idiot of sbf.

hahaha....seriously anybody has the emal address for Prof Edwin Lee...
I would like him to explain how a well regarded Historian can interprete the Singpapore Government Press statement MC.AU. 59/63 (PM) as a declaration that Singapore was a sovereign independent country.

hahaha......eureka.....i must really thank the idiot for giving us the final piece of evidence to close this matter....

TEXT OF SPEECH BY THE PRIME MINISTER,
MR. LEE KUAN YEW, AT MALAYSIA SOLIDARITY DAY MASS

ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 31, 1963

Wonder how the same idiot can equate the event to a UDI....LOL.

Haha..the same idiot still arguing and quibbling over whether his father is his mother's husband.

How can anybody just draw conclusions from a title without even opening the attachment where I have highlighted all important pertinent terms in yellow, beats me. No wonder he came to silly infantile conjectural suppositions.

Not once has he offered any evidence to the contrary.

Very important ommission from the time line.

WHEN DID LEE KUAN YEW JOIN THE KEMPEI TAI AS A MONOLINGUIST TRANSLATOR?
LKY EVEN PROUDLY DECLARED HE DID THAT SO HE COULD EAT BETTER AND LIVE BETTER
HIS SYNCOPHANTS IN THE NEWSPAPER DECLARED HOW CLEVER HE WAS TO BE A FUCKING COWARDLY TRAITOR.

why lky joined the kempeitai - it was the best option at that time. ( exact words from his book )

PAP history is like Japan denying all the terror they have committed in history.

On August 31, 1963 (Saturday), Singapore declared its independence from the United Kingdom, with Yusof bin Ishak as the Head of State (Yang di-Pertuan Negara) and Lee Kuan Yew as Prime Minister; sixteen days later, Singapore would join the Federation of Malaysia, but would declare independence again on August 9, 1965. Not many Singaporeans know about this little known fact!

Thank you...
Very well research done.
We need more Sinkies like you who would not accept text books without examining thoroughly.

It seems 9 Aug 1965 was the day of independence from Malaysia Federation.
That day was made as National Day.

hahaha...the idiotic scums of sbf still struggling and clutching at straws......
the Singapore Press Government Press Statement is clear proof that LKY did not do a UDI....
the event to mark Malaysia Solidarity Day on 31 Aug 1963 was reported in the Press and there was Press Statement
the idiots thought it was some secret event that only he was aware of....lol.
the idiots read blindly from wiki and now confronted with solid proof, still refuses to back off and claim that Singapore official history is distorted.

Myth: LKY did a UDI (Unilateral Declaration of Independence) on 31 Aug 1963.

No point in belabouring the truth here. It doesnt matter whether he believes it or not, it has happened, and no amount of denial or rationalising or semantics is going to take it away. Facts of history cannot be denied once it has happened. I see no point to chase the argument since he is the only idiot who refused to accept it. Everybody else has accepted this little known fact in our country's history.

We all know why sometimes things are wilfully omitted by officialdom and deliberately kept out of textbooks. It could be because they are embarrassing or made the protagonist silly or look impulsive. Sometimes, bad events that reflect poorly on the living and victorious are embellished to make them look good. E.g. future textbooks on the country's history may omit the fact that LHL apologised before the GE2011, and again a few times after unsuccessfully pushing through its govt's policies. And we would understand; but that does not mean that it did not happen.

Through it all, readers and students of history must always be discerning and on guard when people try assiduously to whitewash history or just plain deny things happened just because they were not recorded in every document, because as everyone knows, it depends on who is doing the recording and for what motives. We need to question their motives.
