Yep, exactly my thoughts. These crooks in disguise will always cry father cry mother. What about the huge profits they made in the golden days? All spent on Lamborghinis?
This is a good time to weed out the wheat from the chaff. We have way too many F&B outlets anyway
Totally agree let the strong survive and the stingy and howlian perish...bankrupt is registered company bankrupt owner get away scot free to start again...What about the huge profits they made in the golden days? All spent on Lamborghinis?

So, to let these restaurant owners make money, we should let the virus run loose, spread to vulnerables and drag more and more innocent human lives along ?
That's a personal attackYou sound just like @cloudy it isn't the restaurant owners who will suffer. It is those that they employ who will have nothing.
The owners will lay off staff and cut overheads and come back another day. Those that work for them will end up with zero income for months.

Then the wage subsidy program is a failure and the money should have been directed at employees instead of employers.
These FnB outlets proliferate because they are allowed to hire tons of cheap labour from Malaysia and other ASEAN countries, thereby artificially keeping costs low.
In a normal recession many of these outlets would be folding anyway. The govt already has placed them as first priority ... Meaning that the wage credit scheme over the next few months they will get a higher percentage than other industries.
If they still can't survive, they should be left to die
That was what I have been telling all my friends. Those businesses, especiallly F & B in the CBD, have been milking high profit margin, with cheap labour, for decades. Now they are crying no money, and wanted governement and landlord to provide handout, speaks volume of greed and entitlement mentality. Fuck these business, they ought to close down for good and send home all the cheap foreign forces. Singapore needs good business, not cheapskate bosses, with unstainable business, who think of nothing but themselves in time of crisis. What about the huge profits they made in the golden days? These businesses have small stomach and wanted to act like elephant in the past. Now they felt too heavy to sustain another day. Fuck them.F&B is "too big to fail?"
