Happy Nurses’ Day!
Today, we celebrate the heart of our healthcare system — our nurses.
Through long hours and tireless care, you tend to patients not just with medical skill, but with compassion and grace. As our society ages and healthcare needs grow, your role becomes even more vital.
You are there in our most vulnerable moments — helping us heal, offering comfort, and making sure no one is left behind.
Thank you for your unwavering dedication. You help keep Singapore healthy, resilient and strong.

I delivered this year’s National Day Message from the Padang — a historic site where many key moments in our nation’s story have unfolded, including our very first NDP in 1966.
60 years on, we are at another important turning point. We must now adapt to a very different world. The pace of change will be rapid and not always comfortable. But no one will face these challenges alone. This government will walk this journey with you - just as we have done for 60 years now. Together we will secure a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and generations to come.
Happy National Day and Majulah Singapura!

We are entering our next phase in a very different world. This means working even harder to adapt, innovate, and push new frontiers.
At #NDR2025, I shared our plans to transform our economy, nurture our young, and care for our seniors. We will also plan ahead to reimagine and refresh every part of Singapore.
Most importantly, we must strengthen the bonds between us, and never stop doing better and dreaming bigger. It is this Singapore Spirit that unites us and drives us forward. Together, we will write the next chapter of our Singapore Story, beyond SG60, as one exceptional and united people!

Yesterday, I attended the appointment and swearing-in of Piyush Gupta as an alternate member of the Council of Presidential Advisers (CPA).
Piyush is well known for his leadership as CEO of DBS Group, where he guided the bank through a remarkable transformation over more than a decade. He continues to give back actively to Singapore, including as Chairman of the SMU Board of Trustees and Mandai Park Holdings.
With his wealth of experience and insights, I am confident he will be a valuable addition to the CPA.

The Malay language holds a special place in Singapore — as our national language, and as a bridge to our shared history and culture. For me, learning Malay has been a meaningful journey, and I am grateful for the encouragement and support I’ve received along the way.
That’s why I was especially glad to join this year’s Bulan Bahasa launch — made even more significant as we mark SG60.
As a Government, we will continue to support efforts to promote the Malay language and culture, and to ensure that all our mother tongue languages continue to flourish and thrive.
Itulah cara Singapura.
Kita membina sebuah negara untuk semua — di mana setiap orang setara dan dihormati.

Singapore is, and has always been, an immigrant nation. Becoming Singaporean is not a matter of ancestry, but a matter of choice and conviction, and contribution to our shared future.
This morning at the National Citizenship Ceremony at ITE College West, we welcomed new citizens of Marsiling–Yew Tee GRC. Each comes with unique journeys, experiences, and hopes, adding richness to the fabric of our diverse society.
To our new citizens and their families — may you thrive, contribute, and find belonging as you begin this new chapter in our Singapore story.

A short but very meaningful visit to India.

Over the past two days, I had wide-ranging discussions with India’s leaders. Today, I had the honour of calling on President of India, and also met Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. We explored new areas of cooperation and reaffirmed our commitment to strengthen the partnership.
I am confident that Singapore–India relations will continue to grow from strength to strength in the years ahead.
Thank you, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the warm hospitality. I look forward to welcoming you and President Murmu to Singapore in the future.

I shared at this year’s National Day Rally how crucial our teachers are. They don’t just teach lessons in the classroom — they build character, spark curiosity, and guide our children to grow with confidence.
In today’s fast-changing digital age, their role is even more vital. Teachers help our students navigate new challenges, and become thoughtful, responsible users of technology.
To all our teachers and educators — thank you for your dedication, patience and care. We will continue to support you in your mission — to guide, nurture and inspire every student.
Happy Teachers’ Day!
