Limbang just turned 10! We marked this special milestone with a carnival and a second edition of “Limbang’s Got Talent” — a showcase of our amazing youth talents!
For me, it has also been 10 wonderful years of service in Limbang. I’m deeply thankful for the friendships, support, and trust from so many of you.
To our Limbang family — may we continue to grow together, and create many more memories for years to come!

My colleagues Vivian Balakrishnan, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, and Sim Ann 沈颖 spoke in Parliament today on the situation in the Middle East.
Singapore has long supported the Palestinian people’s right to a homeland. We believe a negotiated two-state solution is the only path to a durable peace. There is no other alternative.
Regrettably, extremist elements on both sides are undermining prospects for a two-state solution. That’s why Singapore has decided to impose targeted sanctions against the leaders of radical settler groups who carry out acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Singapore will recognise a Palestinian state when there is an effective government that accepts Israel’s right to exist and categorically renounces terrorism. The situation is dynamic and we are closely monitoring developments. We will reconsider our stance if the situation deteriorates. We will do our part to keep alive prospects for a two-state solution.
Meanwhile, we will continue to contribute in practical ways: over S$24 million in humanitarian aid and medical support for Gaza, and, importantly, capacity-building programmes for the Palestinian Authority to prepare Palestinians for eventual statehood.
The horrific conflict in Gaza is painful to watch, and emotions run deep. But we must not allow events abroad to divide us here at home. Let us stay united as one people — and, together, do our part to build peace both in Singapore and beyond our shores.

Congratulations to Yip Pin Xiu on winning gold in the 50m Backstroke S2 at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships — her fourth consecutive title in this event, and her eighth world championship gold!
Pin Xiu, you have lifted our spirits, inspired a nation, and shown that boundaries are meant to be broken. What a proud moment too, to hear our national anthem played for the first time at a World Para Swimming Championships on home ground!

Congratulations to the Union of Power and Gas Employees (UPAGE) on its 30th anniversary milestone. I’ve been involved with UPAGE for more than 15 years since I was at EMA and along the way have forged close bonds and friendships with many brothers and sisters in the union. It was good to reconnect with all of them at the dinner.
Our energy workers play a critical role in powering our economy and keeping the lights on. We thank them for their contributions and hard work, and will continue to give them our full support as we accelerate our green transition and move towards a low-carbon future.

I first met Anson Ng, founder of 好人好事 Hao Ren Hao Shi, in 2021 when he received the Silent Heroes Award. A year later, he was named The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year.
Since then, HRHS has grown to reach more families in need across Singapore — delivering groceries and essentials, and inspiring many youths and families to step forward as volunteers.
That’s why I was glad to support their very first fundraising event last night. My heartfelt thanks to the HRHS team, volunteers, and donors for your dedication. You embody the “We-First” spirit that makes Singapore strong. Let’s continue to do good, together!

Had an excellent meeting this morning with my good friend, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. Together, we launched the Singapore–New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) — a fitting milestone as we celebrate 60 years of friendship.
The CSP charts the vision for the next decade of our partnership, with more than 70 initiatives across six key pillars — from trade and supply-chain resilience, defence and security, to science, innovation, sustainability, and people-to-people ties. It is a bold and practical roadmap to future-proof our close partnership.
Among the highlights: our Agreement on Trade in Essential Supplies, the first of its kind, will ensure critical goods continue to flow even during crises; the Strategic Food Partnership will enhance food security and promote sustainable production; and we will deepen security cooperation, including in emerging areas such as unmanned technologies.
Beyond the bilateral front, both sides will continue to lead pathfinding initiatives, such as the upcoming Future of Investment and Trade Partnership (FIT-Partnership) — to promote open and fair trade, and strengthen the rules-based multilateral trading system that underpins our prosperity.
Though small in size, Singapore and New Zealand have always turned challenges into opportunities — showing how strong partnerships can deliver outsized impact. The CSP’s tagline, “Forged in history, fit for the future,” aptly captures our shared determination to build a future that is secure, resilient, and full of opportunity for our peoples.

A wonderful afternoon spent with fellow Singaporeans at a reception in Auckland today. I was so touched that many of you travelled from across New Zealand to be here — from Hamilton and Wellington to Christchurch and even Queenstown!
It was inspiring to hear your stories and feel the incredible warmth and energy of our community abroad. Every one of you is an ambassador for our nation. Through your diverse achievements and strong community spirit, you help keep our Little Red Dot shining brightly on the world map.

Gathered with our seniors at the SG60 Senior Luncheon in Our Limbang earlier this month. It was heartwarming and I thanked them for their contributions in building the strong, caring community we have today.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to strengthening support for our seniors — so they can age healthily, confidently, and with dignity.

Had a good meeting with Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh today. We are committed to have a leaders meeting once a year to guide our bilateral cooperation. But in fact this is the third time I am meeting PM Chinh this year and it reflects our close cooperation and friendship.
We launched a Plan of Action to implement our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). It sets out concrete ways to deepen collaboration in key areas such as renewable energy, technology and agri-trade.
Since upgrading our ties to a CSP in March 2025, we’ve made strong progress across many fronts and I’m confident our partnership will continue to grow in the years ahead.

Concluded the final meetings of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, where I had good discussions with Premier Li Qiang, Australia PM Anthony Albanese, and New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon on how we can deepen cooperation in trade, investment, and the digital and green economies.
ASEAN’s strength has always come from working together, not just among ourselves, but with our partners who share our vision for a peaceful and prosperous region. Initiatives like the ASEAN Power Grid and the Digital Economy Framework Agreement show how we can build a more connected and sustainable future together.
I also witnessed the signing of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) 3.0 Upgrade, and welcomed New Zealand as ASEAN’s newest Comprehensive Strategic Partner. These are meaningful steps in strengthening our regional partnerships.
ASEAN leaders had a productive and encouraging close to the Summit, as we continue building a future of shared peace and prosperity for our region.
