Good catching up with HRH Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei over breakfast. I wish him a fruitful Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship visit to Singapore.
Both bilaterally and within ASEAN, our two countries are committed to fostering stronger ties across many areas, and delivering better lives for our peoples. This will remain our lodestar as we mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.

#EveryWorkerMatters Happy to support the efforts of NTUC Singapore (NTUC) and the Labour Movement to review and refresh our compact with workers.
NTUC has put out several recommendations and ideas for different segments — youth, mid-careers, seniors, caregivers and vulnerable groups. We will study these suggestions carefully and incorporate them into our #ForwardSG review.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Peace Carvin II (PC II) — The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s longest running overseas detachment, that allows the RSAF to hone air combat skills and competencies in a training area far larger than what we have at home.

have very strong cooperation across multiple fronts, including in defence. Singapore's military training presence is among one of the largest in the US, and that speaks to the confidence and trust both countries have in each other. l look forward to further developing and growing this partnership.

We are in a different world - where interest rates are likely to be higher for longer; where we are moving from benign globalisation to great power competition.
Glad to come together with the GIC management team and our advisors, to consider how we should better position our portfolio to navigate the challenges and seize new opportunities in this rapidly changing environment.

We are investing in research, innovation and enterprise in a big way. But given Singapore’s small domestic market, our startups have to venture overseas.
Enterprise Singapore helps our startups do so through the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA). The GIA offers accelerator programmes to connect SG-based startups with potential investors and business partners across different cities. We already have a GIA node in San Francisco and just set up another node in New York today. So we now have nodes in both the both East and West coast covering the entire US!
Singapore may be small, but we are also agile and nimble, and our entrepreneurial spirit runs strong. By working with partners and plugging into the global network, we can open up and seize many new opportunities around the world!

Singapore and the US are close and steadfast partners. Had a good discussion with Acting Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland on how we can expand our cooperation in new areas.
Glad to also catch up with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce here. American companies have greatly contributed to the vibrancy of our economy, and Singapore continues to be a trusted hub for US investments. We look forward to strengthening collaboration in new growth areas, including digital innovation, sustainability and more.
