Of course if the thais were to build a " kra canal" that start near bangkok and exits near tavoy in myanmar, thst is another thing. It will be suoer expensive to build. So they have come up with a alternative. Road and rail linking bangkok to tavoy.( dawei?).
Tavoy will be a port for myanmar, yunnan and thai exports to europe.
