:mad::mad::mad:

With due respect to Mr. Shi Ming De, he went soft at the final crucial moments. In particular with the nationwide general strikes. DPP govt made several days of unusual public holidays to counter-measure the threat of strikes.

In my own opinion, Mr. Shi Ming De & his team were to soft hearted towards economic losses. The counter-counter-measures should be to enshroud DPP govt's declared public holidays with strikes. i.e. lengthen the entire length of strike stretching before as well as after the DPP govt's declared public holidays. This way caused the DPP govt's counter-measure to get the reversed effects exactly by enhancing the impact of nationwide general strike.

During the general strike since there is no work and school there will be lots more people to besiege presidential palace. If they want to take over the presidential palace like the Thais just did in Bangkok it would had been a piece of cake for old bird such as Mr. Shi Ming De.

Then Ah Bian would had got fucked like Thug-Sin & Samak.:biggrin:

Well, now too late to say for Taiwan. Just watch Anwar's 916.

Happy Birthday old dog thief LKy! :p:p:p:wink::wink:

From another view, Mr. Shi Ming De did not turned Ah Bian into Thug-Sin & Samak, he indeed gave peace a chance. There were no coupe in Taiwan. Ah Bian's Istana didn't got broke into and occupied alike Samak's PMO.

Gave peace a chance also gave Ah Bian additional 2 years to launder filthy money in famiLEE LEEgime's red dot. It is still price paid by the country's people either way.

Taiwanese wasted 2 more years with a corrupted president.

How many decades had Singaporeans wasted with corrupted and incompetent famiLEE LEEgime?

I wish to point out that most people were naive and hopeful with Taiwanese economy at the time Ma Ying Jiu got elected as president. So were the same false economic hopes placed on Korean President from Huge Corp CEO. What turned up in Taiwan recently was the mass disappointment and unfulfilled greedy hopes turned anger against Ma Ying Jiu's economic promises. Similarly Koreans had been through same disappointment.

My point is lots of people had repeatedly made mistakes of political compromises along with naive greedy false hopes on economy tied to this political compromises. The existence of famiLEE LEEgime is largely based on such crappy greedy considerations, to allow famiLEE LEEgime to buy time and sustained for so long.

Greed cause people to be blinded. Very sad. They got the worst of all deals in the end and failed by their political compromises. Disappointment has no cure.

cerning a campaign to eradicate corruption in Taiwan, said Shih Ming-teh, a former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) chairman and leader of an anti-corruption movement. Shih, who led his chieftains of the mass "anti-corruption, depose-Chen" campaign calling for scandal-ridden President Chen Shui-bian's voluntary resignation two years ago, paid a visit to the Presidential Office yesterday.
They did not meet with President Ma as they had hoped since Ma was on an inspection trip of military establishments in southern Taiwan.
Shih asked Presidential Secretary-General Chan Chuen-po to relay a copy of the U.N. Convention Against Corruption and a red T-shirt with the slogan of "With Corruption Everyone Pays" to President Ma.
The red shirt was a symbol in the anti-corruption campaign, that was joined by tens of thousands of red shirt-clad demonstrators throughout Taiwan.
The campaign was credited with the ouster of Chen's DPP from power and Ma's election as new national leader in May, although the movement failed to force Chen to voluntarily step down.
Marking the second anniversary of the movement, Shih said he and most people felt the nonviolent protest movement has contributed toward a peaceful power transition in the nation.
Shih, who had sought to pay the president a visit but failed, requested that Ma respond to the people's high expectations for a clean government.
"As Ma chose not to meet me and declare his resolve to stamp out corruption, I decided to personally submit the anti-corruption accord and a red shirt to Ma," Shih explained. He urged Ma to demonstrate guts, wisdom and vision to deal swiftly with corruption relating to both the DPP and Ma's own ruling Kuomintang (KMT).
Commenting on Ma's seemingly elaborate effort to shun him, Shih said that "it is, to some extent, also a reflection of the arrogance of power."
"Many people in Taiwan have lost confidence in the prosecutorial and investigation authorities, but why does the nation's leader remain callous to the public's anger?" Shih asked.
The massive protests by the red-clad demonstrators two years ago helped push Chen's family to wire money overseas at a rapid clip, leading the Egmont Group, an international anti-money laundering network, to discover its illegal activity, Shih said.
The corruption surrounding Chen's family is very clear to Taiwan's people, but it is surprising that many government officials, academics and Christian pastors have conspired with Chen to cover up his wrongdoing over the past eight years, Shih alleged.
In response to Shih's call, Presidential Office spokesman Wang Yu-chi said a meeting between Ma and Shih will be arranged at a proper date, after the investigation into the scams allegedly involving Chen family is completed.
"President Ma highly endorses Shih's anti-corruption efforts, because stamping out corruption and building a clean government have long been his goals," he said.
"But the president hopes to leave ample space for the judiciary to independently probe the case without outside interference," Wang explained.
Wang said that President Ma already implemented new ethics rules for all public servants to observe.
Ma is also giving top priority to enacting "sunshine" laws aimed at wiping out corruption during the new legislative session, he added.
