[Sg video] - Woman pedestrian kena knocked down (killed?) by car at Boon Lay

She's probably thinking that if she carries the umbrella, the cars will stop for her.

That driver was probably day dreaming or on his phone. How did he not notice that woman at the pedestrian crossing carrying an umbrella in broad daylight?

The traffic light was green in favour of the motorists. WTF was the pedestrian thinking?
Jaywalking is a major problem in S'pore. Just 3 days ago, a Caucasian expat, his wife and son blatantly crossed the road at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve right in front of a car, believing that the driver had ample time to apply the brakes, which he did. If he wasn't so alert, the 3 of them would have been run over.

Should be go back sell duck eggs already else at least will kernah concussion with permanent disability.

Do you continue to drive if you see a zebra crossing?

many pedestrians cross roads without bothering to look out for traffic. they believe motorist can see them and will give way to them. some even have their earphones on and eyes glued to the handphone but this one takes the cake. she even compromised her vision with the umbrella. not saying the driver was not at fault.

The umbrella was blocking her view.

I am inclined to believe the umbrella blocked the driver's view. How was the driver to know there's a person behind the umbrella?? It could've been the wind that blew it across the road.
